Lighter load leaf springs to improve ride?

Just wondering if anyone has tried a lighter leaf pack for the rear to soften the ride. I currently have stock + deaver overload replacement with airbags for towing. The rear is still very harsh and hoping someone has tried a softer leaf spring. (I’m sure someone will blame the airbags, but I run them at 5psi when not towing and have tried taking them out and no ride difference.)
    TIA

Looks like you have the TRD Fox shocks. I also see you have a sway bar, have you tried disconnecting the sway bar? If you tow and need the airbags, going to a lighter leaf pack seems like like the last thing you would want to do.

    No experience with the Tundra.

Went through Deavers, Alcan and others on my taco, looking for a 2” lift and soft ride.

When ordering the Deavers, I requested as soft as possible with a two inch lift. The ride was softer than others, by a little. They told me that they can make a softer two inch lift set, but they will sag sooner than other springs, probably in a year. They lasted about three years before sagging.

Shocks seemed to soften the ride more than anything. Cheap Ranchos were the trick.

I’d take out the extra overload spring first. No way I would soften the rear spring rate while still needing to tow. That would just exaggerate sway and bounce and squat.

I put Fox 2.0 all the way around, 2” lift up front with 285 E’s with an add a leaf, truck is smooth and takes hits great.

    my 2020 F150 RC SB w/ F0x2.0 and E 285’s still rides like a farm truck.

and my Raptor wallows around but is tight

Maybe put some weight in the bed. The Tundra in my opinion is pretty soft sprung based on my experience with the TRD OffRoad and modded DC’s

Some weight in The bed of the truck smooths out the ride considerably.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. :)

They were honest about how the off road springs I wanted made for the 97 taco would perform.

They lasted longer as promised and I was happy with the softer ride on desert roads. It was the only set that performed close to what I wanted. Might do it again if building another off road taco.

Anyone switch to a full air system? With ladder bars, pan hard rod, etc.?
