Dealer had two options of interest:

    1) limited hybrid : included jbl pano pvm spray in bed and a few other goodies that take it to 67k. My price otd is 66k

    2) platinum hybrid : has heads up power running boards air suspension spray in liner and tonneau cover. 76k msrp my price otd 74k

so….is this a no brainer to go with the platinum and all those extras for 8k?

    thanks!!!!

Platinum- real leather seats not softex (leather like), heated and cooled rear seats, premium sequential head/tail lights, mood lighting, foot well lighting, rain sense wipers, rear door sunshades, 10 way adjustable seats, powered tilt/extend steering, smoked chrome... some other things standard on Paltinum are optional on Limited.

    Compare:
    https://www.toyota.com/tundra/2024/features/mpg_other_price/8421/8422/8423

    I have a 23Platinum, I had a 22Limited, I would do Platinum...

Edit: I just saw you answered (Ryan) while I was working through the differences. You da Man!

I think the $8k is getting lost in the $60k+ price point. But it's still $8k. Would look ridiculous on a $30k car or truck.

I'm a new platinum owner and I would definitely recommend going with the plat. The only caveat to your available trucks is the air suspension on the plat IF you wanted to lift it. I think there are still options to lift with air suspension, but If you don't care about lifting it then the air suspension is probably better anyway.

The way I see it is you're already spending that much on a truck might as well get everything you want. The power steps are really nice and I've used the bed step more than I thought.

Also note the power bed step is higher off the ground than manual bed step, which puts it right at half way between the tailgate and the ground, much more natural feeling when stepping up than the manual. I have had both - 2 different trucks like I mentioned above.

Buy what meets you need plus any want you would miss. I am old enough to know myself pretty well and have the experience of over buying high end models with features that end up of little value or use. If you plan on keeping it a long time then resale will converge to a point as age and miles accumulate.

I had the Softex worry when I bought. Actually have no regrets. It feels as good as the OEM leather on most vehicles. I have had nappa leather on wife's vehicles; I would not have it in a truck if you actually use it as a truck.

Just 2 cents from money does not grow on trees minority of this forum.

If you think all the upgrades are worth the $8K difference to you and that trim of truck meets your needs than go for the Platinum. I don't think they are, but that's me.

Good luck on whatever you choose.

you guys are all so awesome!!!!!
    so much great info.

originally I was thinking 1794 but it's a little too western/chrome for me.
then I thought about toning the price down with the limited....
and of course this platinum presented itself and for 8k seems like a lots of extras that I would probably use.

so minus the $ and the air suspension/future lifting doesn't really seem to be a negative with the platinum.

seems like that's how im leaning now.

P.S. I have the HUD, use it all the time, polarized sunglasses do make it difficult (nearly impossible) to see, other don't use it as much or at all.

I had a limited on order . Test drove a platinum , had my daughter with me . She found the heated seats and that smile was enough for me to buy it . Not to mention the black headliner that not even the pro has

My wife bought a 23 platinum. I bought a a 24 limited off road. Her truck has many features I wish I had. A 24 platinum off road would be my preference but couldn’t cough up the extra 10k even if I get my hands on one. That said, I am very happy with both trucks.

I should have specified, 1794 with TRD package. I'm still fighting the good fight against some of the leftover chrome though. The tan leather isn't for all but I'm a fan. You can't go wrong with the Platinum, and when said and done you won't notice spending a few more grand

Its about what you need. I got a great price at the time for a MGM 1794 edition with the saddle leather. Price was at the mid 60's range.
I was supposed to get the cover but that when Toyota put a stop sale on it because of a problem.
Do have the power steps etc and enjoy the truck. Did replace the oem tires for something a little more truck like.... why not be happy!

I have a fully loaded Limited Off Road Hybrid. The Platinums are obviously great, but if you can live without the extra features, you’ll be more than happy with a Limited! It really boils down to what’s important to you.

After my careful research, Platinum over Limited. No buyers remorse on the non hybrid approach either.

Do all platinums have the HUD? Does it need to be turned on? Checking the manual now.

Page 101 in the manual, looks like it might need to be turned on. Investigating now.

I do not have the HUD display. Just for others if they read this post.

It used to be part of the Advance Package which not all Platinum's will get, now it is listed as a separate item like the running boards in a couple options.

Then you'll already have the toys and not need to be one of the kids watching the others with your nose pressed to the glass, wondering how to install mood lights, power mirrors, MTS selector switch, digital rear view mirror, digital dash, birds eye view cameras, AVS, power boards, etc.
