I’m getting line-X liner sprayed in next week. Should I remove the deck rail system myself? Or will the Line-x plug the holes and make it more difficult to install? I don’t like the idea of them taping around the rails.

My line-x dealer removed the rails, bed bolts, and tie downs without me asking. They did an amazing job in my opinion. Mine was scheduled and dropped off through my dealer though or I would've asked. Just check with them.

    Some.
I removed the rails, they plugged the holes during their prep. Forgot to remove the corner tie downs, they left them in and sprayed them too.

Longer list than the wife needs to know about....
My dealer installed mine, Same as above removed the rails but didn't remove the bed bolts and tie downs which were subsequently sprayed.
If you ever need to remove a bolt after its been sprayed its a bit of a PITA.

Most dealers will remove the rail system if its installed and you can always ask them about it. If its already removed you could plug the holes yourself so they can see it
or have that specific discussion and hope they dont spray over the holes anyways.

I had the conversation with my installer because my bed rail system was on order (thanks @Roman) but they sprayed over the holes anyways. I had an appointment for them for fix it, but I ended up
taping the holes myself and it all worked out.

I had my bed rails removed, and holes plugged.
My corner tie downs are sprayed over.

I would definatley have the bed rails removed.

Line X did an awesome job.

    Hope that helps.

I can send pictures this evening.

Thanks for info. The reason I am posting is because the receptionist said “oh I’m not sure, they may tape over them or if they have to they will remove them.”

I’m going to call back and get some straight answers.

    Thanks Adam

Please - whatever you do, speak to the installer that will be spraying your truck, not the receptionist. This way that person knows what you want done.
Better yet - go there today if possible and have a face to face with the installer......

My dealer removed the tiedown cleats. At the time I didn’t have the rail system. The holes were easily cleaned out prior to installing my bed rail system. I think it’s best if you just remove it yourself so there will be no problems with them installing it wrong or stripping threads. I also had them remove the bed bolts but they didn’t torque them properly and. 62 ft lbs The liner doesn’t really stick to a surface unless they prep it first. Maybe you could put just a little grease on a bolt and spin it in to the threads. That will keep the spray from sticking. Mine peeled right out with a little pick.

I took my truck to the Line-x dealer and they removed the deck rails and taped the tie downs for me. One thing I didn’t like was them inadvertently slapping their Line-x logo into the bed. Peeled that off and that area of the lines looks like shit.

You have to tell them you don’t want it. They asked me and I said yes.

    What? They sprayed around it?

I'll have to check mine. I asked for no stickers or branding on the roll down window and they stuck the LINE-X and the truck shop sticker on it anyway. I removed them immediately.

Time to check my Line-X sticker on the truck bed portion to see if comes off easily. I just left it, but now I'll confirm it's not sprayed around or something crazy or stained.

I was really irritated about this and I had to pull out a couple of the bolts and it jacked it all up.

Yep, lesson learned. I'll tell those guys next time I bring my next Tundra in after this one stops running.

I meant they put that sticker on right after they finished spraying. So the Line-x didn't have time to fully cure. After peeling the sticker off, you can see the sticker smashed and indented into the line-x. Aside from that, I'm very happy of my line-x.
