Had Line-X premium installed today. Insisted that they do not affix the yellow line-x sticker inside the bed - they said no problem! I also mentioned it to another employee to make sure they wouldn't forget. Of course when they brought the truck out, I noticed the BRIGHT YELLOW linex sticker was there. The tech noticed and snuck the truck back inside the shop without informing me of their mistake. I'm assuming he removed the sticker but the adhesive left a size-able sheen spot remaining on the liner. They didn't mention it as i checked out and paid full price. Thoughts on what I should do?

I would imagine they could respray the area with a thin layer to blend it in...

That'd drive me crazy. I wouldn't have paid, or left without addressing the issue. I'm kinda OCD and that spot would irritate me every time I used the bed. It's a simple enough thing to leave off.

That said, it is hard to tell if it actually is any different than the rest of the liner, or if that is just adhesive. If it's actually different I would have been pretty irritated, but I would have tactfully negotiated a discount for marring the liner. If they balked and said they would fix it I would have countered that they couldn't handle the simple instructions to leave it off, and I am not willing to be without my vehicle. They had their chance, and now they can either give some kind of minor compensation (I'd ask what it would cost if I had brought it in like that and asked them to blend it so I had a target discount number) or I could just leave mediocre reviews because they had failed to follow simple instructions. Their call.

Can't tell from the picture if it's just adhesive that can be cleaned off, or it affected the texture - either way, I wouldn't mess with it. I'd go back and tell them to fix it.

I've often wondered how the sticker was attached or what was under it.

Mine has it too and I could live without it. The one they stuck on my rear window was quickly removed when I got it home

Along with a cap catcher magnet that actually locks the swing case in place in case I need to leave the cover open...

If you have a spray in liner, I'd opt for the Bedrug bad and tailgate mat.
No reason for the full Bedrug..

I agree, I just would have left it on there and been on my way..

I just had mine done. Debating about the "warranty" sticker as well.. Might take it off.. Looks like they sprayed over your bed bolts like they did mine.. Even though my salesman said they would remove, spray, and reinstall.[/QUOTE]

I finally got around to removing mine. It was the last remaining decal or branding on my truck.

When I had it done via the dealer, I asked the Line-X vendor to not put any stickers or decals on it, but they put one on rear window and in bed anyways. I could have lived with it just being Line-X, but I didn't want to drive around advertising for the shop with their phone number.

A tiny bit or blk epoxy left, but it's finally gone. It came off with no heat.

How did you remove the adhesive residue?

Most came off with the vinyl rubber sticker portion.

Some I used my thumb to rub loose, a bit of GooGone on a paper towel to get the fine stuff

There is still a touch left. I'll get it with an extension cord and blow drier this weekend. But even the remaining small portion didn't come off, I'm happy with the sticker gone. It left no residual ghosting or outline of the sticker and you'd never know there was one there unless I pointed it out.
