I've done some forum searches and Owners manual searches but no luck finding what it's tell me is 'on' when the headlights are turned on. Maybe I'm not asking the right question...

Pretty sure it’s an indicator to tell you, your headlights are ON. Imagine driving at night in the city where it is well lit, but you are not sure if you had turn your headlights ON or not. If you see that indicator lit up. That mean, yes, the headlights are ON. Hope that makes sense.

dash lights are on all the time...so it makes sense to have an indicator to tell you the headlights are really on too. Thanks, so much to learn about this truck. The headlight 'aiming' adjuster had me the first night I drove it. Adjusted all the way down. Figured that out from a search. Now I can see at night :anonymous:

Plenty features on these truck to slowly figure out and enjoy. I like the auto highbeam button. Pretty useful at night in the country road. Sometime you drive far a long while before you see an on coming vehicle and you may just forget you had activated the high beam. This will turn off the highbeam for you and turn it back on once the on coming vehicle pass by. Pretty nifty.

I turned it off for now. That feature was on when I got it. Didn't like it dimming when I came to a stop. Hi-beams help me see when turning. It 'flashed' a few cars too. BUT I can see it helping in certain situations.

I only use it in the country road. But soon i wont need it because to me the factory highbeam doesn’t put out even light. Hard for me to see further down the road side to side. So i installed a 32” light bar in the lower bumper grille. Behind the grille actually. Now i dont need highbeam anymore.

Please put your year model in your info, makes it easier to help out.
I've heard one can't see this on the mobile version but many of us cruz the forum on a PC.

At the top right of the page click YOU, personal details, and you'll see it a couple of lines down from your name.

Also you can find your owners manual here
Toyota Manuals and Warranties | Toyota Owners

Click browse vehicles, uncheck 'use this info to help me create an account' if you don't want to make one.

Then you will find downloadable manuals, they will pop up as a searchable PDF.
