How many sheets max of plywood could i load in 2020 SR5 crewcab with the sport package?
I need to pick up 25 sheets and not sure if that will be to heavy for 1 trip?

    What thickness of ply wood?

Average weight of 3/4" sheet at 4x8 foot is about 60lbs, 25 would weigh 1500 lbs roughly.

No idea how else you have your truck loaded but you have up to the max payload to fill with plywood.

1 short trip? I’d do it. Only if I didn’t have a trailer available to haul it.

yeah im picking up 3/4 plywood.. need 25 sheets.. its about 30 minute ride .

I just googled and got this The SR5 gives you a payload capacity of 1,660 lbs and towing capacity of 10,100 lbs.
I just dont know if it made a differences with the sports package.

Go look at your door sticker. Almost no Tundra has a 1600 lbs payload. Keep in mind, you and everything else that goes in the truck counts as payload, too.

    Get a trailer.

30 minute drive might be a little sketch. My HD is 5 mins across town. 35mph speed limit the whole way. Problem I usually have with a job like this is as soon as you get there, you need to unload 1500# of plywood or your truck is pretty useless. Trailer can be unhooked and plywood can be unloaded whenever and your truck is immediately available. 1500# would be 350# over my payload.

If you do load all those sheets in your bed, put the truck in tow haul and punch it. Bet you could do wheelies!

Depends on the type of drive. If it's easy roads or light highways, I'd do it. If you're driving a congested highway or busy areas, no way.

The weight is very low on the center of gravity of the truck. It's a lot of weight but driving like your grandma is holding a hot cup of coffee with no lid in the backseat on the way to her hip surgery appt will be the way to go.

A $50 uhaul trailer rental is the way to go. With wood prices if you can afford 25 sheets of wood you can spring for the trailer and do it right.

Agreed. That is by far the safest and best way to go.

I'm just saying for me, if the conditions were right, I'd haul it. If not, then a trailer.

I wouldn’t. Especially if the leafs are prone to be flattened very easily.

Just rent a 5x8 trailer from HD while you’re there and trailer those 25 sheets home.

Or rent a 5x9 w/o ramp from U-Haul for a couple of hours.

I just bought some plywood from HD last month. Since it was 24 sheets came with free shipping. Ordered it at the pro desk and done. Next day HD delivered my plywood.

25 sheets will be a heavy lift. At 1660lbs payload, it's probably doable though.

That's a true statement. That is where all our trucks end up after we baby them for 10 years and sell them off. Then the landscape guys show how much our trucks could really handle.
