Hey guys . Wondering who here has long tube headers on their 5.7 . I have a 2019 crewmax and already have an intake and side exit exhaust but want a little more power so wanted to upgrade to long tubes and then eventually redo my exhaust with 3”

will i still have pretty good gains with my 2.5” custom side exit paired with the headers

    ( magnaflow x pipe/muffler 2 in 2 out 2.5” diameter, second cats removed)

I have Doug Thorley long tubes and Magnaflow 2.5" with TRD supercharger. Not sure how much hp the long tubes add but the whole system generates at least 550hp from the 5.7. Gonna dyno and hptune it next month, anxious to see what hp I'm actually producing and what the new tune does for the performance.

It looks like the 1-3/4" cat-less ARH Direct Connect header system would add 20 to 25 hp as a stand alone mod.

I figured they would be a little bit more than that as I seen people getting 50 to 60 wheel horsepower doing headers but maybe that is also combined with the tune I don’t know

People claiming to get 50 to 60 are doing a lot more than installing long tube headers by themselves.

I believe DirtyDeeds gets 40 or 50 out of JBA's and his full racing exhaust. Best bang for the buck is still the Magnusson.

When I did the long tube headers and full exhaust system without a SC it was a great! If your considering doing a Super charger, I wouldn’t recommend the long tube headers. The long tube headers does change the tuning a lot with a SC and you will need to do a custom tune. The main platform available for a custom tune is HP tuners. Not sure if OP was even considering a SC but just a few suggestions from my own experience on having the long tube headers and a SC. If you don’t mind spending a little bit more money on the headers the American Racing headers are top quality.

Been there done that. Welcome to the rabbit hole my friend. Lol If I was do it all again I would not do long tube headers with the SC. It’s not worth the all the tuning issues and extra expense. Sometime more doesn’t make it better.

I bet that 900HP hellcat was a lot of fun!

This the Pandora’s box I’m about to open. Ordering sc tomorrow. Luckily I have a local guy who installed the headers, will do sc, and does all my custom tuning through hp tuners on the dyno. Fingers crossed we can get in dialed in right

I hope you can get it all figured out. Once I did the long tube headers, full 3” mid pipes and corsa exhaust with the SC it became a money pit quick. I had to do the HP tuner, larger injectors and larger fuel pump. $4k later I was able to get it all squared away. It was a lot of fun when it was dialed in and it performed great! I would do it differently if I was do another 5.7L Toyota SC engine though. Even my custom tuner who is very familiar with SC setups said he would not to do long tube headers on a Tundra with a SC again.

man that is good to know.
SC is the only way to go.
    Best bang for the buck.
Those LT headers, custom midpipes, custom exhaust, install can be like $3k or more.
Might as well get the SC haha....

Yes, I had a 2017 FFV Tundra. If you want you can talk to the guys at Pro Speed out of Houston, TX. They did all the work on my SC. Pro Speed does make an upgraded fuel rail system for the SC Tundra since the stock fuel rail is not optimal. This is why I said it can become a money pit really quick. Personally I would do some research to make sure on which computer unit you have and make sure on everything before you pull the trigger.

I have read on other forums that the fastest 1/4 mile times are achieved with a super charger running through a stock exhaust system, and that long tubes and a free flowing exhaust are the best bang for your buck if you are not going to super charge.

Viktor is running a TRD SC with headers can run mid 12s on just the engine and SC. I think he is using just the TRD tune from Toyota. I believe he can run high 3's 0-60 with just the motor, sc and headers.

I think if you're going to run SC, headers and race exhaust the TRD tune and SC are the best option. Next best is probably the Mag SC with the trail tune. At least.... money wise.

I've been looking for a while. Just haven't pulled the trigger.

I would talk to the guys who have done the SC install and tuning. They can explain the pros and cons. In Texas DAP Tuning and Pro Speed are the two most well versed shops. You can also ask Keith at Dirty Deeds as he has had dealt with topic a lot.

Keith is the one I've seen recommend the trail tune with SC and headers to keep from running too lean.

I actually think the fastest quarter mile has been through a twin turbo built at dynasty in KY running a haltech ecu pushing over 1000 hp. He was running 11’s. It’s nasty but beyond a money pit at that point.

I've been trying to wait till the whipple 2650 comes out. They put it off to end of year. I bet that thing will be a monster. The only problem then can the engine handle it with stock internals. All the talk I've seen says the stock 5.7 can't handle much more than 550hp without issues.

this guy is in states, but it reminds me of the guy in Dubai. The twin turbo kits they make at dynosty are custom for every truck, but can’t really tune them on stock ecu hence the haltech. You’re light years from a daily driver at that point obviously which mine is
