Ok bear with me because there’s a shit load of red flags here! lol. Would like advice, maybe provide someone with a laugh.

Been keeping my eye out for an RCSB tundra and found I “think” a good one, that’s being sold by a car dealership near me that’s attached to a junk yard. They don’t sell anything with safeties done and it sure as hell sounds like you can’t just drive off the lot.

Truck is a 2010, 4 wheel drive, automatic with shift in the steering console, middle seat in bench, 4.6l engine which I all love, they e told me there’s no way to drive it to my mechanic to have them take a look at because of the insurance issue, price is 14,500 (Canadian), mileage is 260,000km. Engine starts up like a dream which made me not worry about the higher mileage anymore, biggest issue is rust, looks pretty decent for a 15 year old vehicle in Canada but I’m sure guys in the southern states wouldn’t be too impressed, haven’t been able to drive it yet because it was sittting on a flat tire in the lot. I’m including some pics of the underside to see what people think before going back to look at it again. (They said they’d blow up the tire with some warning so I could drive it around) oh ya, no lights on dash, including some pics so anyone who knows more about rust can point out anything to look out for (there is one hole in the drivers side rocker panel).
Thinking that if I can’t find anything horrible with it I might make them a standing offer for 8-10k if they don’t sell it they can call me and I’ll take it, can’t justify more if there’s no way to get it to my own mechanic

Run... run away! Run fast, run far.

Kidding aside, that's pretty freaking rusty. I'd be scared

Sadly that looks pretty decent for anything thats been in Canada for 15 years, ive just never been able to really judge how much is too much, underside of the bed is actually great.

You’re out east? I don’t like the 4Hi and 4Lo on at the same time. There can be some real issues if that system doesn’t function. Definitely rust issues. I almost got into a truck from down by Chatham, glad it was just that too far away for me. Honestly, pass on this one. Get on FB and keep looking. They seem to cycle thru now, getting old enough that some guys are selling despite the rarity factor.

I would keep looking. Also any reputable dealer would fix the tire issue before they put a vehicle up for sale. The rust isn't horrible; I have seen worse, but mechanical issues could be a factor. Also the 4Hi and 4Lo lights should not be on at the same time. Do yourself a favor and keep looking. The diligence will pay off with a better condition vehicle. One more thing, if they won't let your mechanic check it out then tell them to pound it!

Dealer attached to a junkyard? I'm assuming all sales are "as is"? Spend more money now and you will spend less later, there's no bargain here.

Looks like an Ontario truck lol. That tail pipe isn't original, likely rusted off. Like the others stated, pretty rusty for the price. And that 4hi and 4lo at the same time isn't a good sign. Without driving it and confirming everything is in great shape, including the 4 wheel drive, I'd pass. That being said, giving them a lesser offer like you said probably be worth it.
