I'm having a short loud noise when I turn the AC on. It only happens the first time I turn it on for the day. It's getting worse. I took it to dealer who brushed it off by saying it's normal and it's due to the fluid settling over night. This 2021 Tundra Crew Max Limited is my 5th Tundra and none of my previous trucks did anything like this. Anyone know what it could be? I'll try to get a video and post it here for you to hear. I think it's an AC compressor issue.

It's also making an intermitant clacking sound when the clutch is engaged and spinning. I'm trying to upload a video, but don't have the correct format currently.

This usually happens after the vehicle sits a couple days. My theory is it is the belt slipping. Why you ask, if I turn the AC off and drive the vehicle until the idle gets to normal and turn on the AC no noise. Toyota like to race the idle when you first start truck and my guess is with cool belt it slips. There is a TSB out there somewhere on the subject, i don't believe it due to the oil separating even if Toyota states it, they undersized the belt. the clutch clacking is toytota 1980 technology. Dated truck. period. Even my 2001 lexus has a variable displacement compressor, the clutch is always engaged.

Lots of threads on this one. Just leave the AC on low speed when shutting down for the day. On start up see if the noise still occurs as it should not.
