I’m sure I’m not alone when I say there is nothing like driving a tundra! I will also say I’ve never been to a gas station this much in my entire life though . With such crappy gas mileage on a big truck you’d think they would put a bigger gas tank on it. Granted I have a leveling kit and 35 inch mud tires…but I am lucky to get 12.9mpg to pop up as my average .

Welcome and greetings from Minnesota. I have the 38 gallon tank, it really hurts to fill it up when empty, so I fill at half tank. Enjoy your new truck. It looks great from the photo.

Thank you! I don’t know the exact size but I believe mine is a 19gallon if I had to guess. Same size as my Turbo Legacy GT lol. I do love the truck though, picked it up last June. It’s the limited with JBL stereo and beige leather. For being an 08 it’s in great condition with now 134k on the odo. Had 118k when I bought it.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Adjusting your driving style might get you a 2-3 mpg bump, but that's hard to do, and you may already be a conservative driver.

Consider regearing your truck! I have Nitro's 4.88s with my 35x12.5.x18 tires, about 66 pounds apiece (10-ply), and get 13-14 city and 17-18 highway. The gears will take the load off of your transmission and other driveline components in addition to bringing back the peppy low-end torques our trucks come off of the factory line with while keeping the nice meaty tires! Fuel efficiency is increased by reducing gear hunting and bringing back RPMs into the factory powerband. Worth the investment if you have payload, tow, and off-road but also daily drive your truck and don't want to sacrifice MPG.

Quoting myself from a different thread for you, OP. This was in response to buying a '22 Tundra for the improved fuel economy. But the same idea applies here. If you choose a more efficient half-ton truck, you're going to get about 3-4mpg better on average. At $4/gal and 15k miles driven per year, the Tundra costs you almost $80 more per month in fuel. For lots of us, driving the most dependable half-ton made is worth that small fuel premium.
