Anyone lowered their 3rd Gen yet? Let's see 'em!

I'd specifically like feedback on the SOS Performance kit for lowering 3rd gens if anyone has tried it.

Hell yeah, I'm in for pics of this! I remember Rutledge Wood had a gen 2 maybe that was lowered and looked amazing!

(we got a Pro, so no lowering for us)

Lowering makes sense to continue the natural evolution of the Tundra into the Camry Ute for sale in Australia. V6 check, small bed check, easy entry and exit check. Now that Holden is out of business, easy market for Toyota to go after. Just slap a slab of VB in the bed and it’ll sell itself.

I use my truck for towing and hauling. Modern bedsides are too high to begin with. Lowering the truck makes it easier to load and unload. It's easier to get in and out when you're making a tonne of stops. It rides nicer and has less roll when your center of gravity is lower. You don't lose any payload or towing capacity, it's just easier to hook everything up.

If I could get a ute with an 8ft box, I'd be all over it.

I lowered mine and still did all the truck things around town, including hauling bed fulls of mulch from the city to my backyard....Also towed a 2k lbs trailer loaded with a Jeep up to 10k ft elevation.

I don't hate it, but also not my style. This is what I imagine most people think of when I say I lowered my tundra. No...that is not a lowered tundra. That is a "slammed" tundra!

That's rad as hell, but too low for me. Too many potholes and speed bumps around here.

Those race trucks are cool. What parts of that are actually tundra though? Seems like they only kept the grille and headlights. I bet it tows like a beast.

Just got a '24 tundra SR5 4wd w/premium package and leather... This is my 2nd 4wd. Last truck was a 26 sierra z71 lifted with 35's. Did the 4wd mud truck thing for 8 years. I've always had lowered (not slammed) muscle trucks. Would like to make a lowered track truck with 4wd. Something like 3&5 just to make a mean stance and aggressive handling. What kits do y'all suggest?

Id recommend a Whipple kit and XAT built motor (6.2 or 6.8L) on your 2021 after trading in the 2024.

The only lowering kit I'm aware of for the new tundras is from SOS Performance.

I’ve got a 2007 SR5 2wd RCLB with SOS Lowering Kit and SOS Airbag Kit.
I’m selling it and got a 2010 4wd RCSB 5.7. I’ve got the identical lowering kit and
airbag kit for it that’s going in as soon as I can.
It’s as said above, I haul stuff. It’s a truck. I can get in and out of the back all day without
a step stool. I’ve hauled 2 yds of wet mulch and on the same day 2 dozen wet yellow cedar
4x4x10’ and all I did was put 35 lbs in the airbags. Truck sat level and it was like there wasn’t
    even a load.
I can say it rides way smoother and handles almost car like. That’s a function of 2wd. But it’s
    a real improvement.

Thanks, if you know of any interest on the island it's for sale. I've replaced it with a 2010 RCSB 4wd.
It's getting brakes in a week or so and may end up being with a friend in Vancouver to sell when I go away for work.

Did you look at any other lowering kits before deciding on the SOS? Do you have any pics of your 2010?

No I didn’t look anywhere else because a guy here in the RCSB thread had a full description of them and he put them in his truck. I got enough info that I was comfortable in his expertise and advice after a few messages back and forth. He had lots of pics too. I’m a good mechanic and it was about 6 hrs for me to do the lowering kit and airbags in one day. Rex Kramer is the guy. He’s not in the forum any more. But his pics and info are all there. These pics are as it sits. All the modifications are in boxes in the shop. :ballchain: Almost there!
