For those of you running the Maestro…

    - what gauges have you set up?
    - What do you recommend?
    - what readings are normal?

mine is below but it’s just where I started

I don't even use them on mine. What radio is that? Pioneer 8600?

I know. Probably too much. The stock HU was flaky and already worthless. I got mad at it one one day…. And BB had 18mo no interest so I figured what the hell.

Yeah the stock sucks. I took mine out of my 2020 and it's in a cabinet in the garage. I have an in-dash Pioneer but a bigger screen would be nice. I would imagine that the radios like yours probably have alot more option and apps. Not bad at all on the no interest. BB does that alot.

Still liking the unit? I haven't decided yet if I'll replace my current Pioneer with one. Netflix and weather radar via the web browser would be nice though. I would like the 9 inch if I can get it below the dash and recessed back like others have done with their 10.1

I love it. It’s crazy how much a little change can change your perspective though. I put a Pioneer 4500 in my wife’s 4Runner a couple of years ago. I thought it was amazing compared to stock. Now compared to the 7600 it just seems puny. I do miss the weather map from the stock unit. I did do the bypass so that I can watch content from my phone or just plug in a firestick. I’ve gotten past the novelty of that part and rarely use it. I’ve also found that some of the features like browser, weather and sports don’t play nice with iPhone. They are in the pioneer ecosystem and use the same connection as Alexa I guess.

CarPlay is the same for everyone, but I do like a couple of things that my wife’s doesn’t have. A recent firmware upgrade adjusted the screen. Same affect as adjusting the resolution on your computer screen. Low res on your laptop gives you bigger icons that don’t seem to fit right. Higher res makes the icons smaller and more proportional to the screen - so way more user friendly. Anyway, everything seems to look and fit better. I also like the customizable Nex screen. I’ve got mine set up to see a camera view, time, and audio. You can adjust both the position and the size of the tiles. The icons along the bottom of the screen can be set the way you want. So for me it’s really easy to switch between screens. For me, the only miss with the actual unit is the lack of a volume knob. Steering wheel controls work fine though and I keep the remote handy for passengers if they want to adjust the sound. The other things I wish for are really Apple issues (like a weather radar map). Finally, the screen size is perfect for me. It’s big without being a distraction. Also looking at new cars today, the screens all stick up above the dash whereas mine fits pretty close.

I have Trans and Intake temp, voltage and coolant temp, this is from last winter, hasn't been under 80 in months & that's when it's raining and over 80% humidity.

Is your screen set as low as it can go?

It can be set lower by modifying the screw holes where the unit mounts to the dash kit.

it’s probably as low as it can go without additional modifications. I don’t remember which dash kit I got. Schoshe or Metra…. I know some have modified the factory mount as well.

It looks good. I was just pointing out to him that more adjustments are available. It's more of how bad someone's OCD is. :D I want the 9 as well...wife says it doesn't look like it belongs there. I told her to look at the new vehicles that look like miniature monitors sitting in top of the dash lol. The 9 would suit me because of my phone mount, and I would love to have streaming capability like Netflix. My current Pioneer won't do that. :(

Thanks. I gotcha. Was just confirming that it would take some additional work.
