I have another concern when I run the heater in the morning for instance after I park and turn off the ignition I hear a weird moan or something almost like a low key roar? Is that the thermostat or
? It sounds like it's comming from the defroster area on the dash

Others may correct me but the Maint Reqd light is solely to remind that an oil change is needed.

Did you reset the Maintenance using the odometer button the last time you changed the oil?

Do you keep a record of work done on the truck? If so and the Maintenance light comes on at 5,000 miles since last reset, what happened at 109,000 miles.

You can also set the maintenance light to come on at 3,000 or 4,000 miles, at least in a Tacoma...

Just my opinion but I believe you will have better results if you don't add a different problem to an existing and unrelated topic.

Setting the maintenance light interval, as PennSilverTaco mentioned, requires special OBD2 tools and software to perform. There are threads in this forum on obtaining the hardware and installing the software (Toyota Techstream). Or you can ask a dealer to check the setting, most likely at a cost and a plea to perform other work (antifreeze, plugs, brakes, etc.)

Actually, just for the maintenance light, I don't think so...

I believe I just hold the odometer button for a certain period of time, and there are these little lines that appear on the odometer. Each line represents 1,000 miles in an interval...? At least that's what I was told...

Hmmm. On both my 2009 Camry and 2012 Sequoia, if i don't hold the odometer button for all the dashes and get the confirming message, the light stays on.

Plus, I would find it very poor design that one could accidentally change the interval through impatience or by a slip of the finger.

There might be a way to change it using the odometer button but in my opinion it would have to be something more elaborate.
