Hey everyone. I did a search and didn’t really find an answer.

I’m looking to get the Pro fender flares and wrap matte/flat black and also the marker lights for the grille. The Rave harness for the fenders looks like it taps into the running lights for head/taillights.

I’m trying to see if anyone has wired the grille marker lights to a source such a running or headlights? I don’t want them on all the time.

I’m hoping to get these all wired up to come on only with running lights or when the headlights are on.

    I appreciate any help.

There is lots of info on the forum about this topic. Do you have premium headlights or no?

Can’t tap into the premium lights as they are canbus. Non premium you can.

in waiting on my fenders. I will be doing a 7 pin to 4 pin harness, and wiring then to that. That way they only come on with running lights, and there is no damage/scarring left on oem wiring harnesses.

I have the none premium. Rave has a wiring harness for the fenders that taps into headlight/tail light running light wires so they aren’t on all the time.

I was trying to accomplish the same with the grille lights.

I reviewed that thread. Didn’t see anything specifically for wiring the grille lights to the running lights for the headlights. Rave makes a harness but it’s to the ignition. I’m going to look at the fuse boxes for a different fuse to tap.

you didn’t read the thread as I am just one of the ones that posted the exact information you are looking for.

Not trying to be difficult here but you were linked with a direct answer to your question. You can tap into the same running lights up front for the TRD flares that you can for the TRD grill marker lights.

So you understand where you are going to tie the marker lights on the fender flares but you don't grasp the concept that you can wire the grill lights to the same circuit? The answer is to wire the grill marker lights to the same source you're choosing to power the front fender flares.

Thanks. I got that. I’m far from being electrically inclined. All the plug and play harnesses I’ve found don’t allow for that for the grille markers. I’ll probably find someone local from our Toyota group to help.

Thank you. I guess I could wrap in electrical tape to help.

Looking into the same thing. Did you find a different fuse to tap?

Not a Gen 3, but I tapped into the headlight parking lights for my grille lights in my 2014.
Put a very small inline fuse and a Deutch plug in case I needed to remove the grille.
I used to have to remove the grille to change headlight bulbs but now have OEM LED headlights.
Also used that circuit for my Rigid pods..
They come on with the parking lights..

Incorrect. You can tap into the premium lights wire for the DRL. I just did it when I installed my vent lights.

I’m against tapping into factory wires. Made myself a wiring harness, that goes from the 7pin to 4 pin trailer harness. Used deutsch connectors throughout. Everything can be quickly disconnected if need be, and removed.

The closest you’ll get to plug and play is rave might have a harness that uses an add a fuse. But making yourself a harness like that is not hard, and a lot cheaper

I've got that....I was thinking, could you maybe get a fog light splitter, and wire up the fronts to the split?
