Hey guys, I have a 2012 Tundra SR5 in metallic green. The clear coat above the door windows on both sides is peeling and I'm thinking of using black vinyl wrap to cover it up. The truck has a lot of black in it anyway and I'm hoping it looks good. Planning on going from the mirrors up around the windows and back down stopping at the bottom of the second cab window. Then thinking of doing a 10in strip on the bottom of the door all the way back. Do you guys think Maddie black or semi-gloss would look best for this situation? Any opinions will be appreciated. I'm trying to upload pictures and will soon, let me know what you guys think thanks

The areas where the clear coat has pealed would have to be prepped up a bit before the the wrap goes on. Why not just have a paint shop correct the clear coat issue? I vote matte black if you go the vinyl route.

Satin is better. Matte so easily shows water spots and Satin matches OEM black badging and the wrap that’s on the b pillars

    I agree with Satin.
There are so many colors of vinyl available now, you might be able to match the metallic green if you really want to keep it less obvious.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
Good looking green! Wish they would still do colors like that.

I agree. That color is really nice. There was another color I liked that was on tacomas for sure that was like a grayish green maybe spruce mica? And there was a grayish blue too that was really nice, lunar mist I think. Colors are so basic now and a lot are flat looking like the cement and sand color. At first I wasnt happy to settle on my blue ribbon but now I love it
