I was hoping that there might be someone to help me diagnose our problem.
Our Maytag Model MVWB850YW0 will fill & wash but won't drain. I replaced the drain pump, snaked & sucked out the drain hose with a shop vac. My wife can get it to drain after pressing the power button about 30 times. There's not that much to these things but I don't want to just throw money at it for no reason. Anyone with experience in this field? I'd love to not have to buy an $800-1000 washer. Thanks

I had a similar experience with a Whirlpool washing machine, replaced the pump, water inlet valve, cleaned hoses, etc, but the thing would still give an error and not drain. That lead me to the controller board which at that point, we just bought a new machine as the wife was tired of waiting.

The inlet valve &/or control board were gonna be my next replacements but hate to keep throwing darts. If I knew for certain, it would absolutely be worth it. I just hate to give up on something that should be so easy to repair.

I read about filters & looked for one on ours but there doesn't seem to be one. I'll check your link to make sure. Thanks

    #Grendel

This is the same info that I came across, which made me look even though ours is a 2013. Thanks again

    From the link above:
    FILTER LOCATION
Most top load washers made after 2001 do not have washer filters in their drainage system. Instead, newer models utilize a more powerful drain pump and larger drain holes. If you have a model made before 2001, you can find the washer filters at the bottom of the washer drum underneath the agitator.

Have you tested the lid switch and door lock?

A faulty switch will prevent it from draining. Try pushing manually and with a multimeter

I'm not following you. Try pushing what? And do what with a mm? Also, I read that if the lid lock engaged it wasn't the problem. Do you disagree?

Our 7 year old Maytag front loader took a shit last weekend.
The repair tech said it was either the pressure sensor or the main board.
I replaced the pressure sensor, it still gave the E01 F09 errors and shut down.

$2.4K later, a new GE washer and dryer will be delivered tomorrow...

check the vacuum switch it is on the top right rear corner I used to have to tap it with a screwdriver before I replaced the switch.

looks like you already found the vacuum/pressure switch

Oh they still have filters. My 2007 model Kenmoore and MILs 2013 LGs both have filters. Have to remove the lower front cover to reveal it below the wash drum. Filter unscrews, water will pour out and make a mess, be prepared with towels / shop vac. More of a screen to catch debris. Found coins, sand, rubber bands etc in them.
