Help me decide— Method NV or Roost. Both in matte black on Cooper St maxx 275/70/18. On a white 17 crewmax tundra.

    Thanks!

Love the Roost. I put them on my '18 recently and couldn't be happier.

That would be great if you could take more pics. @scpete24

I like them both a lot. My initial thought was to get the Roosts, as they seemed more unique, but I keep getting drawn back to the NV's.

Super torn. Girlfriend says Roost. My heart says idk.

I see pretty much every Tundra in Reno with NV's on. I'd like to be a little out of the mold, but totally get the appeal of the NV. Is it true, if anyone knows whether the Roost is being discontinued?

This thread should be in Wheels and Tires.

I did NV's but went a step further and got rid of the zinc-colored bolts and replaced them for black.

When I see the NV up close, don't like it as much. I think I'm getting the Roost. Gives off more of a "baja" vibe

They are not being discontinued in our bolt pattern. They are discontinuing some bolt patterns, but when I called and asked he said they wouldn't stop the 5x150

@TheBeast My local offroad shop told me I couldnt go above 275/70 without doing some cutting. Although I'd like to get 295. Is it possible to get that size without cutting plastic, etc?

you should be fine. You might need minor trimming/cutting of the plastic inner liners but that would be about it. what's the offset on those wheels you looking at ? +18/+25 ?

I say go with the tire size you really want right away. Don't be like most of us and go small then regret it then go spend more and get the size you wanted from the beginning..lol

My local shop told me that 285/65 was the largest I could go with a 2" level. They were also trying (really hard) to sell me on a +1 offset. The local shop knew a lot about Ford, Chevy and Dodge but not much about Tundras. In the end I chose a different shop and used the info that I got from folks on this forum and went with 295/65's and a +25 offset wheel. I agree with @TheBeast - get the size tire you want. Trimming with 295/70 with a 2-5" to 3" lift in front should be minimal.

@sr5shark @TheBeast just spoke to the guys at the shop. What kind of trimming would I expect to encounter with that sort of trimming? He said with the Icon Stage 2-- 2 inches up front, and 1.5 in the back. any issues?

My 295/65's are 1.2 inches shorter than 295/70's. For mine I had to remove the little front mud flap and push the front liner in about an inch. I have about a finger clearance between the front liner and mud flap. With 295/70's you may need to remove the mudflap in back of the tire and trim the edge of the front liner.

@sr5shark I know this may sound stupid, but how do you push the front liner in an inch?

On the bottom of the liner, where it wraps around the bottom of the bumper, there are a number of bolts. I removed the inside bolt, pushed the liner forward, and then drilled a new hole for the bolt to go through. You can see from my pict that I did not push the liner forward enough the first time and had to drill a second hole. If moving the liner forward is not enough then you may need to trim some of the plastic on the edge of the liner. (some use heat guns to heat up the plastic and push it forward.)
