Well, thanks for admitting to it at least. Get to add you to the non-OEM-LBJ-fail wall of shame

You make it out alright otherwise?

Is it just an optical illusion or is your knuckle bent to hell?

Drove 2 hours round trip (in a normal car lol) for an import direct LBJ from Oreilys and installed it that night. Drove 5 hours home on it and so far so good. I'll probably leave it for now, but I'm swapping the right LBJ for an oem soon. The left will be swapped for oem within the next few months, it'll have to do for now.

No other damage besides a torn cv boot, miraculously. Gives me an excuse to swap out the lower control arm bushings and put stiffer springs on though...I love credit card debt!

Are there a lot of 1st gen Tundras/ Tacomas/ Sequoias and 3rd gen 4runners entered in the Gambler 500? I don't place bets often but I'm getting some ideas...

It's not terribly uncommon. There was a tundra and a 3rd gen 4runner at this one. Hell, there was even a Rivian. You can gamble anything you want! I generally run my sequoia as a "support" vehicle (granted, it was the one that needed support this time lol) as do a lot of people who haven't done sketchy work to their cars. Having a big reliable go-anywhere car full of tools and food running with a squad of shitboxes hauling RV frames and tires out of the woods is a pretty dialed setup. When your front wheel drive, oil-burning, underpowered farty-exhaust cars get stuck or break down, the support truck is ready to help.

I saw donut do the gambler 500 in a previa. Is it all different races? Different areas? I wouldn't mind trying one.

Saw that video too. Kinda wished they showed more. Seemed like their video was missing a lot and they alluded to a lot of things they didn't show. Oh well, glad we got something rather than nothing.

There are gamblers happening basically every summer weekend in the PNW. Best resource is this facebook post: All sorts of different races and events. Generally, the goal is to pick up as much trash as possible, but others have additional objectives, ranging from going to waypoints to collect card for a poker game (this one I went to) to simply "survive the trail."

Yeah, I was correcting Matt who thought I had Mevotech LBJs. I didn’t mean to diverge from LBJs which is what this thread was about.

Mevo is the worst. Just plain garbage. Tie rod ends lasted a month. But not really that long. I replaced them after a month. Had play and knocking when rocking the steering wheel back and forth or hitting bumps while turning. Put some Moogs on, solid since.

Do you still have the Mevotech LCAs on? And if not, what did you replace them with?

Moogs. I replaced them last year. I could've use Mevo's 5 yr warranty, but what's the point? Do all that work to put back on an inferior product and have my truck on downtime while I wait for the replacement?
