Sorry if I missed another thread, I looked...

Has anyone pursued the 60k mileage warrant from Michelin on our stock LTX tires?

I have 4-4.5 /32nds left with only 20k of mileage.

Honestly, I don't want the same size/make/model tire when I replace, but I want to be fiscally responsible as much as I can.

Did you rotate and balance your tires every 5-6k miles?

You went through those tires fast.

Here is Michelin’s tire warranty and they do stand behind the tires if you do your part.

I have personally never obtained the full warranty mileage on a set of tires. Prorated purchase is a lot cheaper though. My car tires have a 40k mileage warranty and my rear tires are down to 3/32 at 21k miles. Fronts are at 7/32. Lol. That’s what you get with offset tires though.

I tried through a Lexus dealership for my wife's GX, not sure if LTX but were Michelin. Similar situation about 20k miles, forget the tread depth. The dealership went to Michelin and I want to say we were afford 30% of new and what would be at list price. Through the dealership it was still going to cost $1k after install.
Needless to say I was not happy enough and declined. It was a lease, a few months later we exchanged vehicle for new leaser @ $20 more bucks a month.

The new lease has Bridgestones (think), not holding up any better. I don't believe that the load rating is correct, vehicle probably too heavy for tires.

    Good luck!

    Then you should be golden.

Personally, I only like the Michelin LTX M&S AT2 tires if they are siped. In wet or snow conditions they suck.
Right now I have in my garage my factory tires (same as yours, just different load rating) and have 17800 miles on those tires at 5-6/32 tread life left. My other set are on the truck (same tire) but siped. I’m getting better mileage and Treadwear so far.

1/2 ton trucks are in a tough spot with weight rating, ride feel, fuel economy, overall vehicle weight. All manufacturers put P Metric car tires on 1/2 ton trucks. They meet the trucks load capacity, the weight difference between P Metric vs LT tires is significant, ride quality is way better, and with passenger car tires they achieve better fuel economy numbers due to being 15-20lbs less per wheel.

To make things even worse is tire selections in a 275/65/18. I looked for an LT tire with a load range of C or D and there was like 3 tires to choose from.

There is no LTX M&S AT2. Are you talking about the LTX AT2?

I got 90,000 miles out of my LTX AT2’s and they still had some life left.

This^ (on the original formula 2007 purchase) mine had 70k with half tread still left. Only replaced due to slight dry rot. Very slight. Bought some new LTX AT2 with the new ‘eco formula’ and don’t think they are as good as the original formula. They still good, but not as great! Handling is the same. Wet traction not as grippy. Tread life not nearly as great, but still good.
