I was looking at NGK coils yesterday, thinking to myself, "Hell, Toyota lists NGK as recommended for our truck's plugs in the owner's manual, I guess the coil packs should be good enough or better than OEM, right?"

Then I looked up the price tag. $80/ea. Like, what the f.....

I'd be reluctant to run them without any real-world experience and history from other consumers. NGK's, OTOH, I wouldn't hesitate to use.

Problem with NGK coils is NGK bought the former Wells Vehicle Electronics business. A lot of the non-core ignition products have been repackaged Wells. Not ideal. I have also seen NGK coils labeled made in Italy. No idea if these are contracted or if NGK has a manufacturing facility for coils in Italy. Either way, hard pass.

    Denso.

Sure, ideally, Denso would be the choice. In a descending-scale of choices, NGK would be my second choice. Still using their parts and zero issues. That's my experience.

Just asking if anyone’s run them… I know Denso is the best.

with that said, I'd be game to try the NGK's. I'm currently using the ones from a LAPS that meant to "LAST" ;)

Lollll they made it to Colorado and back along w/ my ridiculous work schedule of idling this truck for 7-8hrs a day (5 days a week)

Also, Mishimoto doesn't make bad parts.....

So am I stupid to buy densos, all 8 while on sale for 538 lol. Times a tickin', I feel it'll be the last set needed if these are original.

Why $538? RockAuto they’re running $51/ea. $400 and add in tax and ship and 5% coupon and you should be around $438, no? https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/denso,6731303,ignition+coil,7060

I didn't think about RA. Had trouble with them with the window regulator debacle a while back and guess I mentally wrote them off.
I was looking at toyotas site with %25 percent off. If that's their everyday price then I'm not in a hurry. Thanks for bringin me back down to earth for a few!
