So I picked up my 2012 TSS Saturday before last and am loving it! Gave it a bath this past weekend to get the dealer crap off of it they put on it to "shine it up" but after a few days of driving it makes it look worse. I also removed the LED light bar the previous owner had bolted to the front bumper.

Now that I have that done I am starting to add a few things I need. I just ordered a few things:

    • Tekonsha P3 brake controller w/ pigtail
    • New battery hold down and j-hooks (one on the truck was in BAD shape as shown here)
    • A Tri-fold Tonneau cover for when we travel to keep the luggage and such dry. Not for security so much as it is just a vinyl one. I just didn't want a fiberglass one because it is a headache to put on and remove as needed.
    • The Toyota 84977-0C020 Drive Monitor Switch so I can change the dash display.
    • Coverking windshield sunshade. Because everyone hates the heat in the south.
    • New cabin air filter. The one in the truck is DISGUSTING so it needs changing asap!
All in all I have a good start to making the truck MINE! It is my daily driver now as it is replacing my '99 Lexus GS400. The biggest thing to get used to is parking in the garage at work. Here it is tucked nicely in a corner.....This was before I took the LED bar off the front.....
Some future mods may include power locking tailgate, upgraded speakers (keeping the stock radio most likely though), under rail bed lights for unloading the truck in the dark, and some gopro style mounts as I do YouTube videos and need a stable place to put the cameras!

The one pet peeve I have is no auto window UP on these trucks. Even my wifes 2002 Sienna CE has auto power up windows. Seriously Toyota? Cut a corner there?!?!?!?!?! So I will probably be finding a way to make that happen. I have a spare autoloc unit from when I had my Honda s2000 and made it a one touch everything down I might try to integrate the auto up function with.

I am sure I will have tons of questions as the time goes. So far I have been able to find mostly everything I needed here on the forums. For instance the brake controller pigtail is in the driver kick panel. So easy to get to! The brake controller I chose is because of reviews here on this forum and the drive monitor switch/info buttons mod I found on here also.

You and everyone else asking the same thing! If I keep it I'll probably mount it in the bed for some more light back there when loading/unloading. Then again, I might sell it since I have another idea for lights in the bed.

Winjet Rear brake lights, leather seats, BackFlip tonneau cover, Spyder headlights, Pro Grille, pop&lock
Power lock tail gate: just do it. I love having it. Was an easy install on my 2017, and we’ll worth the $100 IMO
