Ok, so I installed the Morimoto HID kit into my Spyders. Unless I'm missing something, the harness only comes with one connection for high beams, so it currently only works on my driver's side. Do I need to purchase some type of splitter to connect to the harness to go to both high beam connections, or am I completely missing something?

The spyder headlights use a shutter inside the projector for the high beams, if the low beams work, then the high beams should also. Make sure the small harness under the bulb cover with the brown wires is actually connected, this is the connector for the solenoid to the high beam shutter.

Right, that's what I'm talking about. I can't figure out where to connect the brown wires on the passenger side. There's only one connection for it on the HID kit that I currently have connected to the driver's side.

Basically, the harness only comes with this connector for one side, so I need to figure out what kind of splitter I need to get the connection on both sides.

I installed the HID kit at the same time as my Spyders. Everything works perfectly except I have no way of connecting my passenger side high beams.

The passenger side should be identical to the driver's side, the harness should be the same, there isn't a harness to buy.

No, I had the DDM kit, but the HID kit has nothing to do with the high beams. The jumper for the shutter is part of the wiring harness that comes with the headlight.

So all I know (not much). I’ll look in a few. But everything plugged in to each other except passenger side. The passenger side wire plugs straight into the bulb and then he oem hookup for that side I wrapped in electric tape. It gets its info from the other side I guess. But hi beams weren’t any issue. It’s the same bulb/socket.

The headlight itself is plug and play and you can put in level motors from old headlights. Everything should work if I remember correctly

Try putting in the stock headlight bulbs that came with the spider lights. Maybe it’s the hid bulb that’s the problem

I had a bad igniter emailed them and they sent me a new one right away no question.

What size bulbs are in your hid kit?

Untape the factory plug and plug it into the spyder plug, that is what controlls the high beams.

I understand that, but I have nothing to plug the brown wiring you're referring to into on the passenger side unless I'm just somehow completely missing it.

It sounds like you put an H4 kit in the spyder headlights, the spyders require a different bulb size than the truck calls for, I think it was like an H9

I'm using H9. Everything works perfectly. I just have no idea where to plug in the high beam wiring on the passenger side headlight.

On my truck and the hid kit I used, each side was identical, I plugged the stock headlight wiring into rhe plug on the spyders, then had to cut a hole in the cover to add the HID wiring grommet (round rubber disk with 4 wires passing through it) under the cover I plugged the spyder plug into the plug that went to the HID ballast, then from the ballast back to the other 2 wires that passed back through the grommet, then they plugged into the HID bulb. Each side was completely independent from the other, no jumper from one side to the other.

I have the correct bulbs. I've been running the HID kit for a couple months now, just without high beam capability. I decided to try to figure out that part today. The harness for the Morimoto HID kit has a plug that fits the driver's side high beam wiring, and the high beam works perfectly on that side. It just doesn't come with the wiring for the passenger side high beam. I believe I was supposed to purchase the version of the HID kit that comes with a standalone harness for the passenger side, but nobody that's running this particular kit has chimed in, so I'm not sure.

^^ same as me. Switch the hid bulbs from one side to the other. See if both bulbs work with hi beams on the one side that u know works. If they do it’s not the bulb. And switch ballasts. And the igniter. If all of those work then it’s the hradkight itself. Or also try putting in the halogen bulbs to see if they work.

At this point, I would need pics, because the HID kit should not be controlling the high beams. The only thing I can tell you is to plug in the passenger side spyder adapter to the factory headlight plug, even if it isn't powering the bulb, it will still power the high beam shutter.

See I think this is where are kits our different. Both ballasts for the Morimoto kit run through the factory plug on the drivers side. This factory plug on the passenger side isn't even used.

What did you do with the wiring adapter that came out of that light?

If you still have the adapter that you removed, get it, plug it in to the stock plug, plug in the high beam wires and tape up the bulb connection that you aren't using.

Probably threw it out like a genius thinking I wouldn't need it since the HID kit came with all it's own wiring. So at this point, it seem like I need wiring that can run from the factory plug to the high beam wiring.

That would be my guess, you will probably have to cut the connector off of that high beam wire, crimp on some male spades in it's place, and plug them into the high beam 12v and the common ground of the trucks plug.
