Has anyone mounted an ARB awning to Yakima Core cross bars? The bars aren’t flat, and their bracket base is flat bar.

if so, did you just drill your cross bars and shim the sides? How?

I could go with a Yakima slim shady awning, but I already and an ARB tent which I’d like to use with the awning.

Hmmm. I saw those and just didn’t think they’d be strong enough. That’s the cheap easy answer. Thanks

@Jrharvey02 is that their round bar? or the oval-ish core bar? Either way, did you need to do anything to get the branch to sit flush so it marry up to the awning bracket? Where are you in Colorado? I'm in Golden

It’s the round bars. Nothing special to install, just drilled a hole in the bottom. The nut is inside the round bar, I couldn’t spare any loss of clearance into my garage. All that involved was duct taping the nut to the wrench. Nothing special to marry it up, it’s super tight with nut, bolt and prolly a washer in there somewhere. I’m in Westminster.

I want to do the same, but to Inno bars which are essentially the same. I bought these same brackets on Amazon but sent them because because the brackets are as beefy as I need, but I don’t want to drill through the bars to mount them. Weakens the strength of the entire set-up and defeats any benefit of these heavy brackets.

I thought I found the perfect solution (still think so) when I discovered the Awn-Lock bracket from BomberProducts... but I tried multiple times to order or reach customer service and got zer0 response. I guess that’s a good thing because internet ratings are terrible re their customer service.

Anyone want to rip off this design (I kid, I kid :D) er, I mean, develop a similar really heavy-duty bracket for those of us that drive high speed off-road and regularly destroy lesser equipment?!!

Yeah - I ran across bomber products too... they must be defunct. I tried reaching out to @ARB, but didn’t hear back. I think I’ll try the mighty mounts
