Mph - change display?

I'm trying to figure out how to change digital display from average speed to current speed. Any help would be appreciated

 

To my knowledge you can't change it, it either comes with it and will be displayed or it doesn't.

You bet. Seemed to be quite random on the 14-17 models of which actually had it, a buddy of mine with the same year/trim as me has it but I do not. Go figure.

 

My deal is who needs to know what their average speed is. I want to know how fast I'm driving right now

 

My truck will change the center IP display when I thumb the r/s steering wheel up and down buttons when it displays MPH, Distance To Empty and Trip info.

Same, but the dash is a bit different on the earlier 3rd Gens (2.5 Gens). Quick google brought up this for a 2016 instrument cluster. Easy to see the obvious differences.

 

My son has a 2018 and he can pull his up on center display but on my 2016, I just get average mph not current.

 

I think 2018 it changed?

 

You have a 2019, OP has a 2016 so that doesn't really apply.

 

Yeah I think it was '18 when it went to the new style cluster arrangement that it got live mph readout

Avg speed is tied to the avg mpg if you want to compare the two. If avg speed stays relatively the same but mpg bombs that could indicate a problem.

 

I was able to change it by pressing the “INFO” button located below the hazard light button & beside an AC vent. (2012 Seq Plt - multi info display)

 

And it showed current speed in Mph? Not average? I have never seen this before. Do you have a photo?

 

This is a little off topic. I have a new to me 2014 SR5 with the enormous engine. My dash looks like the picture above. On one of my first trips in the truck I saw a trip summary when I shut off the engine with time, distance, mileage, speed, etc. I haven't seen it again and I can't figure out how to get it back. I have seen elsewhere in the forums that later models do this. Can anyone tell me how to get to it? Or did I hallucinate the whole thing?

Can't speak for your model year, as mine was a 2019, but the trip summary happened every time I drove it. You can't have doors open or it won't show up, though. The door alert takes priority and overrides it.
