Just bought a new 23 limited updated from the 01 tacoma and need a set of mud flaps. Anyone have any suggestions on brand or oems that they took off and would be willing to sell?

If you drive in the snow a lot I can't recommend these enough.

This is what my OEM flaps looked like after a 2 hour drive on the highway in pretty rough conditions. When I got off the highway I could feel the obstruction when turning the wheel and this is what I had going on: https://imgur.com/a/dPl1bqp

Immediately replaced them with Rekgen and never had an issue.

the Tundra OEM flaps do feel less rigid, but I'm still considering an upgrade.

That’s good to know. I don’t do a ton of driving in those conditions, but the rekgen ones are cheaper than oem anyways. Probably going to order a set today and call it good.

Yes, thanks for posting this. For a third of the price of the Red Gens, I think I'll give them a shot.

I noticed in the reviews that the main complaint is the rear flaps don't install parallel with the tires. Did you have that problem?

Definitely more cost effective - I would say mine align perpendicular to the tire and don't seem to be off. Even if you're not satisfied you could always return them.

I ordered these on Sunday and got them today. I put them on and yes mine didn’t sit exactly parallel but I am going with them. Very easy install. Plus I like the look of the molded mud flaps over all the others.

rek gens tend to have more coverage, that would be the only difference besides price. i got mine in black, but thinking of re-ordering some red's to give them some pop.

here is the oem vs the rekgen

I just installed these. It was a 15 minute job. The fronts fit and look OK. The rears not so much. Similar to the reviews I read, the rears install at an odd angle to the tires, not parallel to the treads like the fronts. I'm not too pleased with how that looks, but they'll get the job done, especially for the price.

Just got mine today. Will install this weekend. Is it possible to drill new holes in the rear flaps so they line up better?

No. The wheel well liners in the rear are designed at an angle from the factory. These mud flaps could have been formed with that in mind, but weren't. They fit as intended, all the screw holes line up, they just sit at an odd looking angle.

I'm curious if the more expensive alternatives have the same problem.

I have a strong feeling the Rek Gen's form with the wheel well since they are a softish piece of rubber with zero rigidity.

Sorry I meant making new holes that would change the angle of how the flaps are mounted. I haven't seen what they look like so I'm just taking uneducated (and useless) guesses at this point...haha. Sorry.

In your opinion, worth the Weathertech premium cost?
