Wanting to get a new muffler installed on my 2019 plat… will be a whole lot cheaper if I just purchase myself and have it welded on. I’m looking at the Magnaflow dual in single out 14” body. Just planning to do a muffler replacement at this time, everything else will stay the same. So, when shopping for a muffler, what size do I need to make sure the inlet / outlet measurements are? Pictured is the one I’m wanting.

Mine was 2.25” in and 3” out which was factory size on mine. I did the same thing and added an x-pipe as well. Cost me a $186 in parts and $150 to have it all welded in.

You'll more than likely want to buy the resonator from dirtydeeds which is another $250. At least I did because the drone was insane but I also chalk that up to my rear cats being removed by the previous owner.

    All in, $586.

Yeah I’m gonna keep the rear cats on and keep the exhaust stock other than the muffler. I appreciate the info

That muffler will likely leave you disappointed after all costs to cobble it together. I have run Magnaflows on several vehicles, they drone. I didnt mind that on muclecars but on a daily driver it gets old on long trips. You wont see a performance improvement either. If you want a nice sound and actual HP and torque improvement look into the offerings from @dirtydeeds.

Not looking for performance really, just a little aggression. I had this same setup on my 6.2 Chevy and had no drone and it sounded good. From what I’ve been told, chevys drone worse than these Toyotas so I feel pretty confident there will be no drone

I had the exact opposite experience. I run Borla pro xs mufflers and on my last two chevys there was no drone but on the tundra it was ringing my ears. The dd resonator solved it instantly.

This is not true. Tundras drone worse for sure.

if drone is a concern you have the option to run our resonator. It works no matter what.

I guess the big question is: why spend $ to lose low end torque, horsepower and fuel economy just for sound?

you can have the above performance AND the sound you want.

Tundras are different than the other trucks you’ve had. We are just trying to help you not make the same mistake tons of people already have made.
