Alright so I built my flat bed about a year ago with the intention of building a camper later on and later on has come. This is where I’m at so far with the build, still need to waterproof and finish the inside but dry it probably 1000lbs right now. I had a buddy that passed but before that he was hauling and living out of a homemade camper on his 2012 tundra that weighed 3000lbs! Anyways what do you guys think?

What!!!!! You built that? Pretty cool and nice craftsmanship. How does the inside look?

Sure did! The inside is bare, I’ve insulted it but I still have to put up plywood walls and cabinets and such.

IDK why you'd insult it. What did it do? :boink:

Jokes aside, that's freaking awesome. This is gonna be cool to watch unfold, so please keep us up to date and take LOTS of pictures! What are your goals with it? You planning to tiny home with it like your buddy did?

Sorry for the loss of your friend. Hope he keeps an eye on you following his lead and gets a kick out of it!

Very nice work. The finished weight and durability would be my biggest concerns with it. The weight will easily outstrip payload and is centered very high on the vehicle. Not sure what the intended use is, but looks like a cool project!

Hahaha I totally missed that. I’m planning on living in it seasonally and if that works then maybe full time! Also thanks he was a real good guy and I imagine he is!

That's cool. Like I said, you'll have to let us know how the seasonal living goes. There's definitely an appeal to a stripped down simple lifestyle. I think I'm too soft for it, but I can admire it.

Ya weight and durability were my two main concerns while framing so every joint is glued and screwed and I’m going to make all the cabinets out of foam and pmf (poor man’s fiberglass) to cut down on weight. You make a good point about high centered weight so I guess I can’t go off-roading with it… bummer

I lived in a mini van in Aspen CO for 3 years so anything I can stand up in is luxury to me haha
