Recently had my 30k mile service done and asked the dealer to investigate a vibration at low speed, 5-10mph,while gently accelerating up a grade. They initially thought it was engine missing, but then ruled that out.

They called in a regional rep and he determined it was the torque converter, so they replaced that. No luck.

Next they swapped a drive shaft from a used tundra on the lot and vibration went away. They ordered a new driveshaft and replaced it the following week. No more vibration. Whole process took about 3 weeks, during which they had my truck for 5 days and gave me a loaner for most of those. All covered under warranty.

    Just passing along the experience.

Sounds like the issue I'm having on an incline there is a slight vibration at low speed, then goes away. Doesn't do it right away though. So this is a good starting point and good info.
Which drive shaft did they replace? the forward one or rear ome?

Not sure what was wrong with it, and I did not think to ask which shaft it was...

Toyota only sells them as a set because they are balanced as a set.

They are expensive. Might want to check with a shop that makes driveshafts and see if they can rebalance it for you.

When I destroyed the rear half a shop kept the first half, added a new steel 2nd half and rebalanced the whole thing.
