Navigation app on sr5 using entune

Just bought my 2020 sr5 tundra 4x4 and Im having trouble downloading a navigation app. Essentially when I connect to the truck with my Toyota app there’s no navigation apps that pop up on the screen even when I have the app downloaded on my phone (apple iphone). The only app that shows up is Alexa. I tried to download scout gps as well and that doesn’t pop up under apps even though my phone is connected and the app is installed on my phone.

I feel like that is an add-on Navigation service through the Toyota Connected Services. The Toyota Entune/Connected Services app has a $8 a month (I think) membership that gets you Toyota Apps and all. I have a 2021 and my free subscription just ended. I did not renew and therefore that button is useless (I think).

When you are connected to Apple CarPlay, the Map button will pull up your Google Maps.

Curious if any one knows more info...

 

I did pay the 8$ and started service through the Toyota app. I also downloaded the entune app but when I log on to that no apps show at all even Alexa. In the Toyota app when I choose connect your accounts, the only app it allows me to open is alexa.

I’m not familiar with apple carplayis that another app?

 

Just talked to Toyota.com and apparently the sr5 trim doesn’t include navigation. They told me how to make sure apple CarPlay was activated and you have to connect your phone via usb to use your phone apps on the truck screen. However I thought all you had to do was connect via blue tooth and phone apps therefore would be available.

 

Apple CarPlay should pop up on the screen when you plug in your iPhone via USB in the console ports.

It pulls up your Iphone and you can get texts, phone, contacts in a more Phone-like display.

 

Got it. Yes, the bluetooth connection only allows you to use the Phone Call function and maybe play music via blue tooth.
