Navigation map update

Does anyone which is the latest map update for 2015 Tundra? It's never been updated and it probably needs it desperately. Looking to get the chip on ebay.

 

Etune updates for HU are done via toyota website. No idea on the maps, but for sure you need to make sure the HU has the most current update.

Usure if Nav will help much, I dont know if they are still updating maps for the old Etune stereos/nav. They should have an update for the HU unless yours was already done before.

 

Software update via usb stick as above is just software. Maps are on the microsd card behind flap next to screen. You can find new microsd cards with maps on eBay or Amazon.
For my 2015 Sequoia, I got a card from Amazon that had 2022 map data. Simply took out old card and plugged in new card. I did update software before that using a usb stick. Downloaded file on computer from that site above. Site or manual has update instructions. Update fixed rebooting issue my stereo was doing before.
There is a way to go through menu on screen to see what version of software you have and year of map data. I forget exact steps through menus.

 

Toyota stopped doing updates with factory navigation with the introduction of CarPlay. So any update would still be 4-5 years old.

 

The latest update for 2015 year was released in 2017 on Toyota website that was linked.
