    Hey guys -
I have a 2014 Tundra TRD - my ABS and Traction lights are on and solid and 4LO and 4HI flash as soon as I start driving.

In September this happened and was put in shop and it was a Rear Right Speed Sensor. It was replaced and all was good - light came off until.... March.

Went back into the shop that replaced the speed sensor the first time and it was under warranty, so they got a new sensor and it did not fix the problem - lights still flashing.

It has since been into 3 shops and no one can figure out what it is. One shop cleaned some dust under the sensor and it removed the flashing lights for half a day.

One shop said wiring, another said maybe a wheel baring BUT know one knows for sure.

I am hoping SOMEONE out there has dealt with this. Please help

Sounds like a cut WSS wire. Check the wires that run across the top of the rear axle.

CANBUS wiring is very thin and delicate. Just tugging on them, or them being weighted by mud or ice and snow can break the wiring inside the insulation causing an intermittent connection. This will oftentimes be resolved by replacing the faulty section of the wiring harness.

To get a wheel speed sensor fault, you’d have a harness failure, a failed sensor (probably unlikely with new sensor, unless they are aftermarket of questionable quality) or the reluctor ring within the wheel bearing is damaged.

The trouble code description the shops are reading should indicate if the fault is electrical (open or shorted circuit in harness or sensor), or a signal issue (faulty sensor or reluctor ring in wheel bearing)

They are able to monitor the wheel speeds with the scan tool while driving, which can be a big help if the code is related to signal, rather than circuit.

That’s about all the help I can give diagnosing via the internet - hope it helps some.

I am having a very similar issue. I took it to the dealer and the code read front passenger abs sensor. replaced the sensor and same errors. replaced the wiring from the abs sensor to the 1st connection before it goes into the box in the engine compartment and same issue. My abs sensor was grooved from something wearing on it. That is why i went with the replacement but immediately the error returned. i do have a 6 inch rough country lift and the dealer blamed the lift as the wheel bearing and abs sensor was place in the aftermarket raised knuckle. My lift guy seems to think it is the wheel bearing race coming out ... it is the only thing i have not tried (replacing the wheel bearing assembly and bearing)

any updates on this thread will be helpful.

I hate shooting the parts cannon, but front wheel bearrings are easy on our trucks. I just did mine last month.

Having a similar issue on my 2010 4wd. I changed a needle bearing in the front diff, got everything back together. now my 4-hi light flashes constantly. Ive already experienced a snapped ABS wire and the dash lights up like a tree, so it’s definitely not that. I’ve tried un plugging and re connecting the actuator on the transfer case, and the plug going to the front diff. I’ve tried tapping the actuator while turning 4wd switch (plus while driving forward, reverse, turning, neutral, everything). The only other thing I Haven’t checked are fuses, but I’m stumped. I’ve verified the truck is not turning in 4wd, but does clunk like it’s trying to engage every time I back out of the driveway. Anyone any input or suggestions??
