While driving home yesterday I lost power to my rear view, A/C controls and a couple other accessories. Then I noticed my dash was lit up like a Christmas tree.
    4 wheel drive hi/low flashing
    Abs light
    Traction control light
    Tpms light
    Check engine light
Also had to use that little button on the steering column to get it out of park.
I hooked up a cheap OBD II scanner and it gave a code P0500
Reputable mechanic (great Google reviews) is saying I need an entire new ABS control module and is quoting $2,200. Does this sound right?
Everything I've read says this is most likley related to one of the wheel sensors or the sensor on the transmission.

Found ECU-ig no.1 fuse is blown. Replaced it and it blew immediately. We'll see if the new mechanic can find the wiring issue on Tuesday.

Here’s the problem I found with my truck. I forgot one of the valves is called, but the seal was leaking fluid (rear bearing?) from it and it kept getting the abs sensor clogged up so all the error messages like yours would show. Originally I just thought by replacing the speed sensor it would fix it, it did for a quick second, and then it got clogged up again. I end up replacing all the parts and got it fixed.

ABS Ecu is fine, very rare that it fails. You have a short in the wiring somewhere that is killing power to several parts of the truck. With the fuse blown some parts of the truck are not being powered.

Get someone who knows automotive electrical to look at it. This could be "hard" to find but should not cost alot of money to fix. Based on what you have said so far, replacing the ECU will not help.

What part of Texas are you in?

I don't think what you are describing is a bad ABS module. When our ABS module went bad, we started having intermittent ABS and BRAKE lights coming on. It progressively got worse to where they stayed on and finally failed. Also, the self-test stopped working to (the clunk you hear after driving shortly). We did not have any other lights on.

I agree with Jeff above, something else is going on, short related.

As a side note, if anyone ever needs to actually replace a module, don't spend $2,200 to do it, that's a ripoff. I replaced mine for under $300 on our Sequoia with a take-off unit from eBay. When our module went out on our F-150, I had the module resoldered for under $150.

They found the issue. Steering angle sensor was causing the short as well as the p0500 code
    $1300 for parts and labor
