After a wonderful relationship with a T100 and an equally satisfying tryst with a Tundra 4X4 6 I passed off the Tundra to my son and I purchased a 2016 SR5 used (20K).
When I got home and went to program the garage door opener I could not find the homelink. Went to the manual and it says the homelink is in the rear view mirror. It does not say
    "For those so equipped".
Was homelink an option on the 2016 SR5? My mirror is just a mirror. Which is not a bad thing
but I am curious as to whether some slicky slicky took place.

Can anyone tell me if the some 2016's were produced without a Homelink?

    Thanks and good cheer

Yes, homelink came with one of the upgrade packages. I think it was the SR5 upgrade package or the convenience package. Pretty annoying my truck doesn't have it neither. What's that cost to put one in at the factory... like $20? Come on Toyota.

You can probably retrofit the homelink mirror if you wanted it

In my opinion, it's not the best location on the mirror. One finger operation moves the mirror.

That said, my 2015 sr5 has 3 home link buttons on the mirror. Must have an upgraded package of some sort. I purchased it used.

I have Homelink on my 2018. I just pinch the mirror at the button so the mirror doesn't move.

I do too, I'm just used to it being on the overhead console on every other vehicle I've had with it.

Seems like a poor location on the mirror to me.

I couldn't get the first button to work anywhere. #2 works for home and #3 at work. Try them if you haven't already.

I bought and installed a gentek autodim/homelink mirror and ran the cable under the headliner and down the A pillar to the underdash fuse panel using a add a circuit. I don't have any issues with the mirror moving when i press the homelink.

Homelink came on my 2016 with the SR5 upgrade package. I have no interest in trying to program this (don't need to allow access to my garage if I forget to lock the truck). My garage door opener has WiFi and I can open the door with an app on my phone. We were on vacation once and I was able to open the garage door so that we could have an neighbor check on our pets.

Daughters Limited Rav4 doesn't have it. It is part of the SR5 upgrade. I have an older opener so no phone app. For others that cannot program there is a different procedure for an opener with rolling code. On mine no need to push button hard enough to move mirror. Thinking about getting one for daughters Rav4 on Ebay. I will probably wire it to only work with ignition on.

Thanks, everyone. The guy I sold my '95 T100 to still drives it every day. Pushing 350,000 on the clock. Can't say I kept any pictures of it.
I have no heartburn using the clip on opener. Use it on couple other cars. Kind of surprised they skimped on this. My 2003 Acura RL has it on
    the visor.
I know what you meant about programming them...what a p-i-a. Spend several hours over different days screwing around with the hand helds, the visor home link
the key pad, the overhead on the RLX. Felt like a genius when I finally got them done. My 10 year old grandson just laughed at me.
    Thanks for the welcomes.
Now trying to decide on the $1500 upgraded radio to include the navigation system... think I might pass. I got the satellite radio and that's all I really needed.
I do think the SR5 level interior on my first generation (2004) was nicer than the finish on this one. But then they didn't have to more levels to go...
    Just came across a 2006 with 50,000 miles, with a camper shell...$20K.

    Thanks again
