Well, I'm Joe. Or Joseph. Or hey you. I'm out in the Pacific Northwest, Just outside Portland Oregon, over I. The Washington side. I'm not new to Toyotas, or any vehicle for that matter. But my toy has more than served it's purpose so I owe it a thing or two. I bought the 2000 Tundra SR5 v-6 2wd plain Jane pickemup with the stock stereo and the little p.o.s. JBL amp. She's been a good forest green working sumna-beotch. Especially for having 196k miles on it. Good news is she has a really sexy rack. I mean talk about the ability to haul some goods! Up to 25 foot long if I have to. And able to load with a forklift. I welded chain to the underside of the rack for tie off points. I removed the stock stereo and amp and had it wired up real nice to a couple 2500 watt 12 inch planet audio gothic subs with a 2500 watt razor class D monoblock amp. She was gently fed through a nice optima battery and a 5 farad lighting audio cap. Don't laugh, that *hit was LOUD. Seriously. Well the stereo went bye bye in a robbery about 2 months ago. Along with about 3500 in tools I had locked up in the cab. I'm a general contractor just fyi and I do ALOT of high end bath and kitchen remodels, well of course I handle it all but lately it's been the baths and kitchens.
So I needed a truck way bad and my neighbor says come over I wanna talk to you. So, he says 1999.99 and not a cent less. So I buy it as he tells me he bought it with 3 miles on it, Toyota dealership did every single inch of maintenance on it, all on time every time. Timing belt was just changed 300 miles ago. Etc etc. I was like hell yes. So that was almost 5 years ago. Well it's got some minor issues like throwing a code 107 lean condition bank 2 cylinder 4 and missfire and then it started throwing multiple misfires. So I changed the plugs and cleaned the mass air flow. It ran better. For a little while. Now it vibrates when lugging in overdrive. I dont know why. So I'm busy as hell, and Im Too cheap to take it to the shop because I did get my associates in automotive tech and got my ASE certification, in 1991. (Ahem) so I can handle just about anything pre 2015 lol. My problem is TIME. I am not only a contractor and busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking competition, I am also a single father of two boys 9 and 7 years old. AND I'm about to turn 51. Dont have to say it, I know I know. Have more kids they said. It would be fun they said. So I just really want to go to where the real answers are at. That's where I want to hang out. I find it beneficial and financially vital. So that's why I'm here. A bunch of guys and gals that are like minded, love their rides, and want to get their answers from someone that's A) real B) application appropriate knowledge base C) sufficiently straight forward D) open to share knowledge for the simple and specific purpose of carrying on tradition. And THAT my friends, is who I am, and why you find me here today. I sincerely look forward to picking your brains and extracting every single snippet of what I'm sure is centuries of combined experience and applying it to my everyday life, which of course I will share with everybody I can, starting with my two boys. Allow me to thank you ahead of time, and apologize as well. Just to cover all bases. Lol see ya'll in the forums!
