Hi all. I previously had a silver 2007 Tacoma TRD Sport which I loved, but not unconditionally. The lack of oomph was noticeable and the 2WD left me with pause.

Fast forward to last week, when, after watching the used truck market for weeks, I was able to snag a 2014 Silver Tundra SR5 in 4x4 with the 5.7 V8. 40k on the odometer.

I have a list of things I’ve decided I would like to do:
    - Line-X the bed
    - TRD grille
    - color-match all exterior chrome (while blacking out TUNDRA, SR5, and 4x4 emblems)
    - upgrade headlights (to something without chrome, of course)
    - TRD rear sway bar
    - and lucky me, the truck still has steel wheels, which I would like to upgrade

I’m still doing research on compatibility and all that jazz. But this site has already proved immensely helpful, just from lurking. So thank you guys.

Definitely replace the emblems instead of putting overlays on top of them. The overlays collect dirt and grit and trap it against your paint, and an entire set of all-black emblems is not much more than the overlays, just more time to install.

This is what I replaced my badges with last year, very happy with them.
