As the title of the thread states, I was a Tacoma owner, but I sold it when I had some kids and bought a house that would better accommodate the lil’ turds. Currently, I am a rocking lx turbo Kia Optima, which I actually don’t mind and I am going to keep as my work commuter due to the 30+ mpg (and it’s worth a little less than I owe).

Now, to the Tundra part, I am looking for a 2nd gen DC 5.7, with around 115k miles to put it in my price range. I was curious if any one wouldn’t mind sharing what they paid for a roughly similar truck (i get comparisons can be tough with higher mileage vehicles due to the variance in condition). Or, if you’re thinking about selling your truck in the Pac NW, I’ll keep an eye on my inbox.

    Welcome from CO!

I recently purchased a 2010 Tundra, CrewMax, Platinum 4x4 with 106k miles. This was purchased in San Diego, CA before I moved. I paid 20k for it even though market value was 24k (with the color matched shell). The gentleman that was selling wanted to quickly get the down payment going on an RV.

I did look at plenty of other options and the market is tough for these trucks. Most people aren't selling them and the handful that were for sale had poor history or the price was just too high. Keep an eye out, you will find one, and you should escape for around the same price :)

Thank you for the info. That’s a solid price. Im not too picky on the options I’m looking for, other than bucket seats and 4wd (and strongly prefer Pyrite for the color. There is a Chevy dealership a few hours away that has exactly what I’m looking for. It’s listed for 17k (has 123k miles, 5.7l, and options described above). KBB value, which isn’t too accurate for Tundras/Tacoma’s/4runners is $14,300. All the private party listings I’ve found are priced worse than the dealers.

Found that in Houston recently that they command good resale. Dealers asking premium prices for clean relatively low mileage ones and they can finance you. But its worse for the Tacos here. Tacos same or usually higher priced for same year with similar options as Tundras.

Earlier 2nd gen Tundras usually $11.5-15ish in our area. We stumbled upon our 07 4x2 130k miles slightly less than that range from private seller. We could probably sell and make $2-3K.............

I browsed Tacoma’s the other day and found the same one I had (2015 Trd Sport DCLB in pyrite and they had it listed for a $1000 more than I bought it for new.
