    15% tint... just getting started
Longtime viewer, first time posting. Currently in an 06 Titan and have been a longtime fan of the Tundras. It’s about that time to get into something newer and have zeroed in on the tundras. I’ve been looking for a while and found this 2017 Limited a few hours from me. Has 30k miles and appears to be sound. Seller has dealer records for service that are up to date. Prior to making the drive, I would appreciate any thoughts, suggestions or feedback prior to trying to making a deal. Seller is asking 35k, said he had an offer of 34k last week, but just reached out today to see if I was still interested.

At 35k, why not look new with all the offers out there right now?

This is a standard problem for Tundras, Tacoma’s and 4-Runners.
You can get a new truck for a little bit more. The used trucks hold their value so well that when you search the internet for deals you will see three to four year old vehicles with 50k or less miles for only $5000-$7500 less than brand new. So you will scratch your head and get frustrated and say well now what do I do?

Thanks for the input. You’re right about the head scratching stage...

If you "need" what is in the Limited trim, then it might be on ok offer. But you can get a new TRD Sport (no leather, no nav, etc, but carplay in the 2020!) with carplay in the mid 40's or less. The crewmax's also lease incredibly well if you can find a dealer that uses US Bank). Good luck to you, I was in a similiar quandry about a month ago. Almost got a 2017 CPO Off-road, but ended up getting a 2020 TRD sport because I really wanted the Blind Spot and parking sensors and carplay.

Welcome! I personally would look at new ones for that price but if you go the route of purchasing this one; I would check two things...does it have the 38gallon tank and is there any leaking from the cam towers seal. The cam tower isn't a deal breaker for me but paying for that out of pocket would be a hard pill to swallow. And you gotta have a 38 gallon tank. For how shitty the gas mileage that is a deal breaker for me.

Id recommend getting the VIN and checking it on Toyota Owners website for recalls or issues. I just bought a 2018 TRD Off Road from a dealer and they had no records and were being weird about sending an autocheck/carfax link. Kept sending me photos of printed reports. They were removing the open recall pages. Found it on the Toyota site, had 3 open recalls, called the local dealer here and they said theyre all easy fixes that can be done by a mobile tech in my driveway so wasnt a big deal. Buyer beware, investigate em.

Got a couple more pictures. Thoughts on the Toyota Paint Protection? I like the idea of the paint being protected, but this looks terrible to me. Has anyone experienced the removal?

It’s 3 months out of warranty, 3yrs/36,000 miles for the PPF warranty.
