No beep when locking (but lights flash)

I've tried looking through the forums already, but haven't find any with a situation just like mine. As the title states, I'm not getting the two tone beep when I lock the car with the remote anymore. I don't think it's an issue with the actuators, as my lights still flash either once or twice depending if I'm unlocking or locking the car. I've replaced the little speaker under the hood, and I've checked the wire harness as best I can to see if a rat chewed it, but still no luck in figuring out what's the issue. Is there a fuse or some kind of setting I should check somewhere? Would rather not go to the dealer to troubleshoot this issue if I don't need to. thanks!

What is year and trim of truck? You are using the stock fob or aftermarket? Is there any aftermarket remote start or LED lights anywhere in the truck? Does everything work as expected except the beep sound?

Sorry, it's a 2014 Tundra DC SR. I'm using the stock fob, haven't touched the alarm system at all. I do have LED lights in the bed for bed lighting, and everything works as expected except for the beep sound. I did upgrade the HU and thought that may have been the issue, but when I put back in the original HU I still was facing the same issue.

Download Carista for a 30 day trial and see if you can toggle the settings on/off...I "customized" my HVAC for when the truck first turns on...I also removed my seat belt chime...within there, one can augmentation those settings and more versus your center cluster screen settings options...merely a suggestion...I used the app for no more than 20 min and than canceled for no cost...does thing that torque cannot and vise versa...

Mine did that when when door lock actuator went bad. After you lock it, check all 4 doors to make sure they locked.

I would recheck the HU and if checks out ok maybe check to see if a dealer can check if its turned on. Does your panic button still sound the horn?

The head unit may be what controls the beeping sound. In the 2019, I can adjust the beep volume from off to obnoxious with several steps in between.

One time, after I had the door panel off, I forgot to hook the cables back into their slots when I put the panel back on.

For days, I got no beep when I went to lock the truck. I checked every door to make sure it was closed. I finally figured I’d just live with it.

Days later, I had to sit in the passenger seat for some reason, and when I tried to exit the vehicle, the door would not open.

THEN I remembered… I hadn’t hooked the cables back up. I did so and immediately the beep came back and I could hear more clatter of doors locking.

If you’ve done recent work that required the panels to come off, you’ve already stopped reading and are going to hook your cables back up.

I noticed my dads 2019 DC Limited does the same (no lock sound when locking). Would love to solve that for him.

This is the stupid little beeper speaker. Be glad yours doesn’t work, it drove me crazy so I ripped it out. It’s located just inside the front drivers wheel well, behind the headlight.

I wonder if this issue was ever resolved. My truck just did the same thing all of a sudden. When I go into the Entune settings on the stock headunit to look for the beep volume, it doesn't exist as an option where it's supposed to.

Lights flash and all doors lock and unlock properly. However, my door lock speaker doesn't beep at all unlock/lock/lock with door ajar.

I actually like the audible notification. My kids sometimes don't close the door all the way, so I like to hear the long beep when they don't.

Yeah. Mine was just beeping all the rest of the time, for other things. Any time I’d stop the truck and open a door, shit would start beeping like crazy.

Mine started an issue where the lights don't flash when you unlock it. You have to do it a couple of times for the lights to flash.

Just tried that, and it didn't work. Also doesn't make sense that the remote battery is related to the car triggering the lock speaker.

Hahaha I agree, makes no sense on why it coupd be the remote power...but German cars make no sense electrically sometimes so my suggestion was poor at best. I'm glad we don't have German trucks...

I ended up fixing it with Carista. Not sure how it got shut off in the first place. Maybe it was somehow through my Chinesium Android radio install? No clue, but could never find it in the menus of the new radio. Carista option solved it

So the option wasn't available on the stock headunit settings menu, but carista was able to reenable it?

My issue is there is no option to adjust the beep volume within the stock headunit, so I have no way of reactivating it. I don't know what happened for it to disable and disappear from the settings menus.

Couldn't find the setting in my Autel scanner to program the beep, so I just bit the bullet for the Carista. I have no idea why the setting was disabled randomly, but it's working now.

My tundra has the same issue. The dealer said they were going to try to install a new speaker for $290 (on mine it was so faint you had to put your ear to the headlight) or replace the $1100 unit that controls it. I said forget it

You can get a replacement speaker online for $60 (used). Depending on the part number, I may have one as I purchased one to see if that was the issue.

Worth a shot to replace the speaker. Remove the bumper grill, then reach behind the driver's headlight and you'll see the speaker. It's just slightly bigger than the keyfob. One example is posted above on this thread.
