I feel there's going to be a huge shortage of ammo in the coming days/weeks/months. :eek2:

Best stock up now before this BS supposed 11% tax comes into play

That's the plan to disarm all law abiding citizens, they don't care about controlling the armed criminals. That's up to us.

I left California back in 97, I was paying around $800-1000 per year in heating and cooling costs. Now the average Cal home owner pays that every month. Just wait untill all the ICE vehicles are gone and everthing is electric, you can buy your EV vehicles but you are not going to be able to afford the electric bill to drive them, and that my friend is not by accident.

I would like to remind the fine members of Tundras.com about our very strict "no politics" rules.

If you don't know the rules, I would read them.

Good for the California residents. We still have the ammo background checks in NY.

Speaking just for myself and my experiences, background checks have prevented two of my gun sales. Both were not allowed to own guns. I think that is a pretty good system...don't you agree?

100% on the background checks for firearms sales, that should be a natiowide thing.
Here in Cali the 10 day wait period is stupid, that should disappear along with quantity limits.
Nobody should be able to buy ammo if the system does not show they already own a firearm. (And yes, a good system can know everything)

But it should be an instant background check like in most states and pick up the firearm right after paying for it. The 10 day wait is ridiculous, especially for those that already own firearms. Ammo (in my opinion) should not be controlled at all, should be available for purchase like any other commodity (with or without firearm ownership).

The better question is, how many of those prohibited persons attempting to buy a gun, are prosecuted for the attempt, which in itself, is a felony?

The answer is almost zero. It actually was zero, until Bill Clinton was asked the question at a news conference, where he was bragging about the "thousands and thousands of felons" that had been stopped from buying a gun in the first year of he Brady law. Then they went out and did a handful of prosecutions.

What do you think happens when a prohibited person is turned down for a legal gun purchase, and there is no repercussion? Do you think they just say "aww shucks, you got me"! "Guess I'll give up on that idea"! Or do you think they seek other, illegal means of acquisition?

That federal gun law, like most, is seldom prosecuted. And there we have the crux of the problem.

Just a dumb ex cop's opinion.
