When I rolled my back window down the other day it sounds like the bed is coming apart. It’s sounds more like the tailgate and the cables on the tailgate. Idk has anyone had this problem. Tks

I have a 2022 tundra trd pro I just bought today makes a week …here is what Im dealing with it rite now I have 3 issues…
1.really bad noises coming from the rear bed
    2. Rattling noises on my rear window win down
3 my qi wireless charging pad works for few seconds them shows stopped charging…then goes back on then stops that’s how it operates…I was told to take out the phone case if that don’t work then there is something wrong with the qi charging pad …which I think is whacked if it is

i just noticed this yesterday also, i normally have the back window down but i normally listen to my music at a higher volume and never noticed it. yesterday i noticed it for the first time. sounded like a loose sway bar endlink but from the mid/back of the cab. drove all day with no music just to pinpoint it. seems like its only happening at bumps going under 10mph. i spent an hour banging everything under the truck to try to duplicate it but couldn't. then i rolled the back window up again and the rattle went away. maybe something with the rear window.

When I picked my truck the other day I noticed the chain for the spare tire hanging down. Could it be that? I haven’t driven around with the window down yet.

Its the cables that hold the tailgate to the bed- go grab them and move them. Also the cables for the lock inside the tailgate make a racket- going to rubber wrap those.

Ok. Just went for a drive. I hit every bump I could. Sounded like the tailgate was falling off. Ugh

The other thing I noticed the qi charging pad works without the phone case with phone case does not operate correctly just an fyi or

My tailgate rattles a bit too. Here's the thing... I think they could fix it with thicker rubber bump stops. But that would make it harder to close the tailgate. You would have to "slam it" shut, but then it probably wouldn't rattle. I rather like how easy it is to close the tailgate, and I know it is positively latched and shut. If I had thicker bumpers and I slammed it shut, then I would wonder if it shut all the way, and open it and re-slam it... I've become ok with the tailgate rattle. I feel better about a little play in the tailgate vs making it too tight. Just my opinion.

I put some felt pads on the tailgate where they hit the bumpers, helped a good bit, but still rattles

I really think the louder thuds is the tailgate hinge itself. I can grab my tailgate and move it up and down enough to make me think that when I hit a bump that’s the cause.

I’m not sure if that’s the cause because I went to the Toyota dealership and inspected the hinge on that tailgate and did the same on a new 1794 also a buddy of mine has a Tacoma and does the same on the hinge …and I also had gotten a few things at lowes and had weight on the tailgate when it was close and still does noise when I went over bumps and I would of thought that could help the issue….so in my opinion I don’t think it’s the tailgate…mite be the actual bed or something loose underneath the bed where the frame is ‍♂️….my truck is going back to the dealership on Aug 30 so hopefully I can get an answer

I really think it’s the bed rattling. When I look in side mirror it’s as if the bed is shaking.

It’s definitely a mystery for sure … I think it’s in the frame area needs to be tightened or a broken part ….I know they retourqed the bolts hold the bed down and didn’t fix it also ‍♂️

I was told it that it was tailgate. And a field tech made an adjustment today. I’ll pick it up tonight and check it out

Two weeks ago when I dropped off my 22 trd pro for the noise they drove my truck with the tailgate and still did the noise they believe it’s to do with the bed ‍♂️

What is the temperature when your phone wont charge? I noticed, if its hot out and when I first get in it will not charge until the cab cools down. And it will keep cycling back and forth until it is cool enough and then my phone charges with no issues. And I have a case. I have heard about this issue from other owners. I am not sure if the heat is the problem, but I convinced myself it is.

Ya so they adjusted my tailgate and it’s quiet now. But who knows like they would admit that the back of the truck was not on all the way.

You know honestly I have no idea what they did exactly. There was a Toyota field technician from Toyota at my dealership who was aware and what to look for and told the dealership what kind of adjustment to make. Update: here is a photo of the receipt.

Would it be too much to ask the dealer the exact fix they did? I think lots of us would be super grateful on this information, as most of our dealers don't want to do anything about it!

Yeah. I can still here some noise back there but I’d say it’s about the same as my 2013 tundra now. Before it was extremely loud and annoying and I’d cringe every time I heard it. Now I have to really try to listen for noises.
