I'm looking for a non marring socket to protect my wheels when removing the lug nuts. Poor reviews on anything i have found via Google or Amazon. Any suggestions?

Is it not possible to just be careful? I suppose you could add some electrical tape outside a regular socket and epoxy a O ring on the face.

It is possible to be careful. Its just some added insurance. I keep a breaker bar and socket in the truck incase of flats. $20 won't drain the bank account. Tape may work but adds girth to the socket that may not allow it to fit.

Get the impact set with the plastic sleeves or a set of the thin wall sockets.

Maybe you could make a cardboard shield with holes like the lug pattern and tape it to the rim face before wrenching. Some kind of gift box type material or even make a nice one out of a frisbee. Just never saw padded sockets, guess I don't get out much! To me life is too short to worry about petty BS though!

Petty bullshit? Thanks for your frisbee idea. Treat you things how you want and I'll take care of mine.

@RitcheyRch thanks I'll give that one a try

Put some heat shrink over a normal socket?

I use a 20 inch breaker bar and a new 22 socket. So far so good with black lug nuts and put them on using the same.

Check out the Titan brand on Amazon.

The plastic on the outside is always the weak link.
