You want a Denso equivalent part if your not going OEM from Toyota.

I used Bosch 4 wire Universals to replace my failing ones years ago and they have served me well. $60 or so each. Splice into you factory plug with the supplied waterproof harness splice. Or OEM. Can't go wrong with OEM.

Don't use bosch. OEM Toyota sensors are Denso's. Just go to Denso website and look up the number then go to rockauto or Amazon for the best price.

12 years on the Bosch without issues. Just saying. Not saying to not use OEM, just saying "Don't use Bosch" is based on what?

From my experience, once one goes the others are not far behind, assuming they are all original. So if it's in the budget just do all 4.

also recommend denso (OE) brand through rock auto. The front ones aren't the easiest to get to, but not too bad. Recommended you hit threads with pb blaster or similar first.

Oh man, our trucks have 4 02’s. I wanted to get simpler with going with an older truck.

The secondary air injection system on these trucks is mind boggling how unreliable it is, not to mention expensive. And Toyota still uses that $hit today. Ford hasn’t had air injection for years.

For anything Toyota, Denso is the way to go, Toyota's can be finicky with other brands, not to say they wont work, as others have shown. I just don't want to roll the dice on expensive parts. A lot of Auto parts stores have a no return on electrical parts policy so Amazon might be a better place with their 30 day free returns

Go for it, you’re going to need an O2 sensor socket for the upstream. (Bank 1 sensor 1 & Bank 2 sensor 1)

Bank 2 sensor 2 is down stream, so it’s the passenger side by the cat

Based on 20+ years as an ASE master technician in the automotive industry. Just like I wouldn't run a Champion spark plug in anything but a Chrysler/Mopar and a lawn mower. Or a Motorcraft plug in a 5.4 3 valve. When it comes to certain things aftermarket is fine brakes, belts , etc but on electronics I would always run OEM brand. You may of gotten lucky but as a general rule of thumb I wouldn't run Bosch O2's in anything but German car which is using Bosch OEM. And yes there is 4 O2's. 2 before the cats and 2 after.

I can't tell you how many O2's I have replaced that were replaced with Bosch from autozone causing engine lights. Put a OE one in and engine light is gone. Do it right once rather than buy it twice.

I believe the down stream (pos 2) ones are quite a bit cheaper than upstream.

All of my Bosch O2 sensors worked great. I have 3 of them on the truck and one OEM still. No lights, truck runs great. Still getting the same MPG as always. Not sure if luck is involved. Don’t disagree that the OEM or Denso equivalent is likely the best choice. My Bosch replacements have outlasted the original OEM ones in years and mileage. I’ve never had to replace one of the Bosch, the longest running at over 12 years and 150k miles of service. Which means the OEM failed at 110k and 6 years of service. Just my experience.

That's because scAmazon and fleaBay both or known for being a huge counterfeit parts supply warehouse. Don't buy there. You WILL get ripped off, and there is zero recourse when their counterfeit part destroys your vehicle.

There are about a zillion articles about this on the internet, all valid. There are dozens of posts here on this forum alone showing examples of counterfeits purchased and even some damage seen. Don't do it. Never buy auto parts on scAmazon or fleaBay, EVEN if it says you're buying from <brandName> Store.

I can share more details on how/why this is if interesting. I've posted on here before about the how/why it happens, and how you can protect yourself if you absolutely must buy on there. Edit: Just see here for more info.

I ordered one Denso from Amazon for $42 i was wondering why was it so much cheaper than car parts store $96. Just cancelled it and i'll be getting it from parts store.

As others have said, buy from rockauto. Might be a few bucks more than Amazon, but a lot less than the part store and you'll get an actual denso sensor.

Definitely RockAuto is a good source. Depending on where you are, Advance Auto tends to always be running 15-25% off coupons if you place order online and pickup in store. Summit Racing is a great source if you happen to have one near you, regular customers also get discount codes if you sign up for the catalog.

Rockauto! I've found rockauto usually beats Amazon on price, even with shipping. plus amazon just sucks so I try to avoid it as much as possible. Also my rockauto magnet collection is getting pretty impressive, which keeps me coming back for more!

@bmc02 Thought I was the only that kept the magnets! One of my favorites is a 40 series Land Cruiser! I buy from summit if I need it fast. Otherwise, I love Rock Auto. They are a family owned company believe it or not. Seems like they have gotten faster with shipping lately too. I will confess I bought something from the aisn store on Amazon recently and it was not counter fit. Was using Mcgeorge for OEM parts until the Decatur Toyota special. They are running a free shipping special still.

after half a dozen or so the wife made me take them off the kitchen fridge and move them to the basement beer fridge. Hoping they keep doing it for a long time to come so I can fill the whole thing with RA magnets! it's the little things that keep you going in life...

Yup, mine were relegated to the beer fridge in the garage. I put them into a checkered pattern. Couple of repeats in there.

Direct fit/not universal Denso is the best bet for reliable O2s for Toyotas.
