Hi all, wondering if I can split my obd2 so I can run Mrr and amp research plug and play power steps at the same time.
I have read conflicting information on the “y” obdll adapters will not work on tundras.
Application is a 2011 tundra limited.
    Thank you.

What devices were you attempting to signal from the splitter?

Splitters depend a lot on the "load" and impedance on each arm of the splitter. If mismatched then there will be issues.

Thanks Matt, that makes some sense to me, I would think the MRR is constantly polling data from the ecu, the dang power steps would not.

I should have just gotten the hardwire kit from Amp Research.

That's easy enough. You just need to find out where the wires are that you are supposed to splice into and cut the OBD plug connector off. This is the first I'm hearing about the Y harness not working. I was thinking about getting it so I could plug my HU into it. My powersteps are plugged in now.

What does Amp Research say about this? Interested to know.

It was too late on Friday when I tried to catch them, some vendors even say, will not work on Toyota or Ram.68AF4E87-298D-41A8-90E1-027EFB5F35A8.jpg

Talked to amp research today, the tec said that they have 2 different types of splitters, one will work for Toyota and Ram, one will not. From amp the part is 76405, this one is correct for Toyota.
    It’s not a commutation issue, it’s a obd2 plug that won’t fit.
I was under the assumption that it was a can, or wire thing, not the case.9F2DCAAD-AA50-4A98-87E7-00050D5A0D5A.jpg

Thank you for doing the research. If I go this route do I still need to splice into the wiring? It's worth $85 to me not to have to tap into the wiring.

No, not with the 76405-01a from Amp research, it takes the place of the existing port taps it with a y and retains the existing factory obd2 location.
I’ll post up some Picts once it gets here.
