So I have a 2021 tundra with 27k miles on it, recently had to replace the oem battery with a new one.

I purchased the battery from oddessey and received it today. Hooked the battery up and truck drove just fine, came home parked.

Truck is now completely dead, no crank no click no lights (everything is off). Truck is basically dead and has zero power.

    any ideas ?

Do you own a trickle charger? I would maybe start there and see if it's just been sitting for too long. Costco has them for like $30 bucks. Or put in the old battery if you still have it and make sure its the battery not something else. I assume its a fault in the battery though.

    Alot of them
As mentioned I would put a charger on it. Is it an AGM battery? I would also contact the seller and see what they say.

Can you jump start the truck? Maybe connection got loose somewhere.

Does the old battery still start the truck? Haven’t had any issues with AGM, GM diode mod is pretty easy to boost the volts to 14.4

These trucks are not designed to properly charge agm batteries. You have to modify the electrical system. More than likely, you got a battery that’s been sitting and you really should have topped it off with a trickle charger before using it. You starting the truck probably drained it of what little charge it had left after sitting on the shelf. Unless you plan on keeping a trickle charger on it, or changing the charging voltage, return it and get a wet cell battery. These trucks are not designed to use agm batteries and they really aren’t necessary in a stock daily driver

Yes they do. I've had an AGM battery in my 2018 for years, no diode and it starts briskly every morning without issue.

You do you bruh, I ain’t gonna waste $400 for an AGM battery that doesn’t give me any benefits, and there’s only two kinda batteries, it either start the truck or it doesn’t.

    LOL.

Tell that to my ancient 12+ year old AGM that is still working better than the OEM battery down to -30F.

Do you have lights or anything? What did you try jumping with?
Start simple connections, ground, power to fuse block
Get a charger on that battery top it off

Did you try to reconnect the old battery to start it? Start there and report back….

even though it’s registering 12.9 v you may need to have it load tested……

Hopefully ya checked it, i.e. the voltage, before installing? Most AGM's recomended/need to be charged before install.

    Too many mods to come
Dual Odyssey agms in the old man’s rig with zero issues. I’d take that one back grab a new one make sure it’s full charged via trickle charger. Then throw it in.

Fixed the issue, so with that battery you need to have really strong terminals. Terminals were the issue.

Are we twins separated at birth?

    100% truth.

I got no issue running to Walmart at 10:30 pm to get my 6 year old battery swapped out.

It's just a battery. Some good, some bad and we all drive different.

The starter only pulls what it pulls. It doesn’t pull more power because there is a different battery. The oem terminals work for every other tundra on the road. Sorry, but The terminals are not the issue.

All Toyotas have battery post clamps that are prone to corrosion.

If the clamp is corroded, you will not get a strong transfer of current to the starter.

It's pretty common. Research this and you will agree.

If you’re changing the battery and totally ignore a corroded terminal, you probably shouldn’t be touching anything on a vehicle.

If a person is on this site, there is a good chance they want to learn how to maintain their vehicle.

If one is not willing to help new people learn here, then this site might not be for you.

Not sorry. You just need to research how often the battery clamps are the root of the problem.
AutoZone techs are only gonna clean the clamps half assed. It's on us to inform peeps that these clamps are going to corroded. Not maybe corrode, they will corrode.

Op purchased the battery directly from Odyssey and installed it themself. Nobody said anything about the tech at auto zone ignoring a corroded terminal.

    Clean your battery clamps.
Tundras are NOTORIOUS for the thin film of corrosion on the clamps..

    Don't ask how I know..
