I didn’t have a fancy phone tripod or I would have done a full on install video, but this along with the instructions may give someone who may not be 100% confident with just the instructions, the confidence to give it a whirl.

I installed mine last weekend, different brand but I guess everyone is using the same rail system. That looked just like what I put on. What was the foam block looking thing you put on the cab end at the 1:00 mark? Is that to stop the most frequent leak locations? I also didn't remove any push rivets from rail...hmmm...now I need to go see if that matters, lol.

Nice what brand did you get?
Instructions called them "foam block fillers",I honestly didn't see the point in them either, but suppose they do something. Those push rivets or "Tree Pins" they call them in the instructions, were what held the accessory rails in place when all the bolts were out, they went thru a keyhole slot. The instructions said to "discard" them, I assumed this was because they'd be in the way at some point, but they weren't, I will most likely be putting those back just to fill the hole back in.

Leakage? Any reason you couldn't use the 2 outside drain holes instead of the two inside?

From previous posts, I am expecting some water to get in on the tailgate corners. We are suppose to get some pretty decent rain in our area today so I will check and report back this evening. I thought the same about the drain hoses, the holes are the same size, but the instructions say to use the 2 holes I used for some reason. I don't see why you couldn't use the outer holes though.

Thanks, have the exact same truck as you, very curious how it all works for you. And it just seems weird to stretch out the hoses instead of just going straight down

So far THIS is what sucks the most. I couldn't find or get a straight answer, but I was REALLY hoping with it folded all the way up, I’d still be able to check my cargo with the bed cam, but it’s a no go.

I got the Extang Exceed. I didn't even think of taking those rivets out, lol :frusty:. I just used the keyhole and took rails off. I did run the tubes straight down though. I have a spray in liner so I used a drill and opened the hole back up to the appropriate size so the tubes and any runoff can use the same hole.

As far as leaks go, I use black caulk and fill everything in on those front corners (all out of sight, of course). I also ran a bead down the underside of each rail where the rail touches the bed on the inside. I can take my truck through a car wash and not have a leak! I'm shocked the huge gaps at the rear corners don't allow a ton of water in; I'd assume they will leak more in a steady rain than a car wash though.

I'm also bummed mine blocks the camera as well. If I drove with it open a lot, this would be a deal breaker. I thought everyone on here said OEM cover didn't block the camera ?

That’s the OEM cover? I would be a tad disappointed too! I thought it was supposed to fold up below the camera so you could see. I hope there is a solution or something.

Nice setup. I will analyze and black silicone caulk where needed too! That's a great idea. And yea, it sucks about the camera, I'm guessing folks were maybe talking about the rearview camera, which it doesn't block at all.

yes, it's the OEM. It's below the camera, but because the camera points downward towards the bed, it blocks the view.

I also ran my hoses straight down on the OEM bed cover someone commented that if water gets in the bed it doesn’t drain it collects in the corners so they moved them I have not had that problem very minimal leakage

I'm thinking about getting the OEM cover. What is so odd about this is that the cam is located on the back side on top of the cab so they must be modifying the video. The cover itself isn't blocking anything.

Is anyone having this issue with this tonneau cover? I have it installed perfectly but it fails like this when in the upright position and going above 60 MPH. The wind pushes the cover back and it attempts to lift off the brackets. There is so much force that it has bent the large metal washers. I tried to slide the cover towards the back a bit to get the bolt more centered on the bracket but the tailgate wouldn't close.

Do you loosen this knob, slide it down over the rod, then tighten it back up? It hasn't budged on me once after you tighten it up against the cab like that.

Yes those were are tight as I could get them to go. The problem is it is lifting up from the base. If you try and pull it off the window does it lift up? I have 5.5 bed BTW.
