I picked up a 2007 Crewmax TSS edition back in June after looking forever. I love this truck, have always wanted a Tundra after my Dad got his 2000 and it is still going 19 years later with ZERO issues.

Problem is I am spoiled. My wife's MDX has HID's, I just retrofitted my ecobox commuter car with Projectors/HID's and now the Tundra is in the crosshairs. I cannot stand halogen lighting.

Has anyone purchased headlight replacements from Amazon and they were decent enough? I don't care too much about light placement as projectors will be installed over the reflectors. I mainly am interested in if the up/down/left/right adjustment screws work (critical for retrofits) and if the plastic hazed more than OEM?

Or, if someone has a pair of OEM headlights for sale, I'd be happy to pick them up. Minor hazing is ok as I am getting pretty good and buffing haze out of old headlights.

Have done a dozen or so retrofits on 2nd gens and the only way to go is OEM. The adjustment nuts in aftermarket housing are so soft they strip almost instantly and on some brands the lens tend to crack/craze with minimal heat cycles.

I was afraid of that. Do you have a magical source of OEM headlights? I looked here on these classifieds and they all got gobbled up. eBay is meh, most have broken tabs.

    New OEM are $200+

I've had good luck finding them on local craigslist and Facebook marketplace since so many people change them out for those terrible eBay projector housings.

Thank you, will look there. Worst case, the OEM's on my truck are still in very good condition. Drivers side needs another buff and wax, but maybe just take the crappy Amazons and put them on temporarily.

Problem is I am slow on retrofits. My Cavalier took 3 days at roughly 6 hours per day...so I don't want my truck down for so long.

Well picked up 2 very used headlights yesterday from Facebook marketplace. However I got home and with some love from a rotary buffer, machine polish and patience I was able to get them back to near perfect condition.

Thanks, would have never though to look on FB

Repel brand bug spray WITH (this is the key) 40 DEET will do wonders on the plastic headlight lenses. Be sparing in the application. It's amazing. And it doesn't cost $20 for a tiny amount like the "kits." Yes. Once you use it on headlights you will be: WTF, parents spray this on their kids?

Thats good to know for future hazing, but these headlights were placed FACE DOWN on a metal filing cabinet and apparently had been moved around alot and had a lot of scratching on them. Luckily it wasn't too deep to my buffer set to speed 4 to 5 and the polish took the scratches out.
