I picked up a set of OEM running boards from an auto dismantler. I made sure they came with the brackets as well, but they were shipped to me. So, I can’t figure out how they mount to the truck? Specifically, there are no holes in the rocker panel to bolt the rear bracket nearest the truck bed.

can anyone who has the OEM boards explain/take pics of the mounts under the cab? Specifically these ones:

The 2 front brackets have threaded holes to mount, but it’s the rear bracket that doesn’t line up to any holes under the cab for me.

I ordered a set that did not come with the brackets, color matched and everything. So I'm actually looking for the hardware.

Sounds like you got ripped off on brackets. I can’t imagine you’d have to buy it separately.

Edit: Nevermind. I guess they do sell brackets separately. More recent models appear to sell the brackets separately from what I see.

I did get ripped off, bought them from a junkyard in another state and they shipped them. Was listed as brackets included, but included no brackets. My Homeboy Eric at Serra Toyota could not locate part numbers and contacted corporate. Said he would get back with me. That was a year or so ago.

Yeah, Eric Francis at Serra Toyota of Decatur is a fraud that way, he's pretty notorious for his "contacting corporate" bullshit line. I have an email chain where he made the claim repeatedly after they sent me a mis-bagged part.

Oh and I've tried to find the part numbers. I can get you the part number for the step assembly itself by looking at my part; but the places I'd expect to find those pieces in the catalog for my truck, which came with integrated steps, they're not there. I'd think they'd be in one of these areas:

@shifty` once again, as always, you’re the man!!

I will check my brackets tomorrow, confirm against your photos, and reattempt install. I’ll make sure to update this thread in a day or two.

Totally. Note many times these running boards can be "keyed" where they only fit on one side or the other.

If you need more pics, give a shout. Happy to snap a few off, just tell me where to shoot from under the truck.

This link has pictures of a set I bought from a Sequoia owner and they fit my '06 DC perfectly. In addition to the 8 screws and bolts, there is a little guide hook on the 2nd bracket (front to back) of each of the running boards. Sorry the link is in Facebook.

Link includes part number and fit sheet. I'm having a body shot match the silver color of my rig.

UPDATE: For some reason my truck did not come with holes from the factory to mount the OEM running boards. (well technically there were a couple holes that lined up out of the 22 total, but the majority of the bracket holes didn't line up to anything). So I ended up having to drill my own holes into the rocker panels and add those nutserts so that I could screw in some grade 8 hardware. More work than I was anticipating when I bought these steps, but am happy that they're installed now and like the look. Seem very solid and don't bend/bow.
