My beloved '07 Tundra was taken out by a deer. It didn't look so bad, but my insurance deemed it a total loss. I considered buying it back, but insurance wouldn't cover a frame inspection. Didn't want to chance it. I shopped and found another '07. I paid $2 over the insurance settlement amount, which was more than I expected. It's hard to understand a single deer collision would total a truck, do you have pics?

Believe it. Female. I was braking hard, turning away, she went the opposite direction for a second, then did a 180 directly into me. Totaled due to high body shop rates, likely.

I hit a black bear in my old Volvo. Broken fog light housing, cracked rigidity structure inside the bumper, that's all.

I think this may be the same bear at about same location on my way back. But you're never sure, I saw 6 of them that year. At the very end of the road, where people don't travel for weeks, you open the door and roll slowly, trying to find a spot clear of bears poop, just to step out.

One REALLY thinks a deer would bend a FRAME ?? Its all cosmetic damage yet cosmetic damage Easily goes over 75% of a any 17 year old machine. Buy it and fix it back up - you'll be thousands of dollars ahead.

Lots of deer totaling vehicles yearly due to getting whacked by autos, Iowa, Michigan, Texas, Nebraska, and a few more states that have millions in damages yearly. They say or have said West Virginia leads the numbers of accidents yearly, but I find that hard to believe.
About 150 deaths and 1.1 billion in damages due deer accidents annually. All sorts of stats out there. Then add the amount of crop loss and the monies loss is astronomical. In Texas we have millions upon millions of hogs and the numbers of totaled vehicles just due to hogs will have you scratching your head. Deer and hogs in Texas eat lots of crop yearly and in some places Texas gets to plant twice so wrecks, totaled vehicles and crop damage alone in Texas is crazy both with deer and little piggies.

At least you can shoot deer on your farm property in TX? And it's not a lost crop then, it's a bait :)
