Has anyone stored the filters for the tundra for any extended amount of time? I can't find anything that puts a time limit on, but it would make sense that there should be...maybe the plastic gets brittle or something. In any case, I'm trying to accumulate enough things to maintain the truck. It seems that a good oil can make it 5 years if properly stored, so I have enough for 5 years of oil changes.

Now filters...anyone have any experience or find a reference for that?

    Thanks folks...

I change my oil once a year regardless of miles. I only drive about 4 to 5000 miles a year. I buy filters two or three at a time. So I don’t have an answer for shelflife,But my filters and the rubber seem brand new even after a few years sitting in my hot shed. Obviously I’m in SoCal so it’s not real hot but the shed sure is. If you’re real worried, they don’t take up a lot of space to keep them in a climate controlled environment like your laundry room or something.

I hope not, I just bought 5. It will take me two years to use them up.

I would not stress about 5 years as long as the filters are stored inside and not in the sun. Easy enough to inspect before you use as well.

Oooh... This is good info, thank you! I keep enough stuff in the barn for the next change, but all the rest is in my basement, cool and dry...the barn gets awful hot in the summer and dead freezing in the winter. Sounds like they'll last at least 3 years like that...

A little more robust looking. I actually never looked much deeper than that. Since I change my oil only once a year I didn’t care about a few more dollars. It sounded good at the time and I just stuck with it. I admittedly like TRD stuff. You should be fine with the standard

I order my stuff online. Originally from Toyota of cool springs, and then last time since Coolsprings seems to of falling off, I went with sparks.

And then recently learned about other dealerships offering similar pricing and some even cheaper like this one.
