Hey guys I just got myself a 2018 platinum tundra and I noticed when I accelerate my gauge will fluctuate. It rises with acceleration and then goes down slowly or when I slow down it does back to its original place. Is that normal???

Think about it, the pump is spinning faster creating more pressure when you are accelerating. As everyone else said, normal, don’t worry about it.

Just to emphasize (the little "picture" on the gauge can be confusing), the oil gauge is oil pressure. It is not oil level. It's pressure.

Must be a ford guy. My buddy’s F150 oil gauge doesn’t move. Just stays halfway up to let you know there is oil there. Doesn’t fluctuate according to oil pump.

It’s a good thing. Low OP at idle or when not accelerating or with a cold engine (gets worse when oil thins out when hot) is not.

Pump should be turning off the timing chain, as RPMs increase so will pressure will increase

Bad gage will read strange like 0 then spike to max then low again and seem stuck at times.
